With
its cold ice winds there is no doubt that winter can
bring some damage to your skin. The very low humidity
can really and conditions such as eczema
can also become a problem. But there are simple steps
that you can do to beat those winter blues.
But there is no need to panic as there are some very
simple positive steps to make sure that your skin
does not suffer.
Get a humidifier – during the winter you will
have your heating on full and the windows closed tight.
After all you do not want to be sat in a cold house
do you? But it is this trapped heat within the home
that can be damaging to the skin and can even cause
it to dry out. If you have and the itching can become
very painful indeed. Having a humidifier in the home
will help is retaining a level of moisture in the air
and so stopping your skin from becoming dry.
One of the good things about a humidifier is that
they are not very expensive and they can be purchased
from many department stores and electrical goods shops.
Get an – if you are not
already then you really should be using organic based
products for your skin and body. Generally the more
natural the ingredients are, the kinder it will be to
your skin, and this will help to prevent your skin from
becoming dry and potentially sore. You should ensure
that any products that you do use a highly water based
so that they absorb very quickly into the skin. The
last thing you want is to be using a product that leaves
a residue on the surface of the skin.
Think before you step outside – as mentioned
you still need to protect your skin during the rays
from the sun in the winter also, so make sure that
you apply some sun screen to your face before you
go out.
Also wear gloves is an important step in order to . Just as the skin on your
face can become dry and sore, so too can your hands
so wear gloves and consider investing a good organic
hand cream also.
Wear layers – you need to stay warm but you
do not want to be too hot or to be sweating too much
either. By wearing layers you have the option of removing
some clothing if you become too warm. By sweating
too much this will irritate the skin and leading to
scratching and this is something that you want to
avoid. Wear something that is loose and that which
will make your skin to breathe.
Use a hair conditioner – your hair will also become
more dry during the winter months so it is important
that you use a good and this will help to lock in essential
moisture. |
