Hands That Sweat
by Louise Forrest

If you have hands that sweat a great deal then you may have a problem that you will want to resolve as quickly as possible. Given that there are over 3 million sweat glands on the human body and that the hand has over 600.

Having that seat a great deal can lead to problems of embarrassment that can have an impact on your everyday way of living. Some of the problems that you may encounter are the thoughts when you shake hands with people, being in contact with something that is delicate and it slips due to the sweat on your hands, and you will more than likely leave your handprint on everything that you touch.

The main problem that you have with hands that are sweaty is that you are not just able to apply some natural deodorant to them as your hands are in constant use and they are also washed during the day after going to the toilet.

Sweaty hands are generally the result of being worried or stress over something and if you have a job that is stressful then this can also add to the equation. Generally, just like any form of excess sweating, having hands that sweat excessively can be frustrating and embarrassing.

So what do you need about having sweaty hands?

Believe it or not there are some very effective ways of treating hands that suffer from excess sweating. It is normally in the form of a medication but sometimes such treatments are not always that effective. If you are really want to get rid of the problem then the main thing that you can only really do is to have surgery on your hands.

This is generally a very simple procedure and will not require you to stay overnight in the hospital. What the surgery aims to achieve is to actually destroy the nerves and that when you do wake up from the operation, it is quite common to experience that your hands are warm and dry.

But with any kind of surgery there are risks involved and you should always consult your doctor before having any kind of surgery performed You will be pleased to hear that there are other forms of treatment and some of these include:

Lontophoresis – this involves putting your hands in tap water and adding an electrical charge to the water.

This treatment is not a one-off and you will need multiple sessions in order to see some kind of results. The treatment can be costly as it is ongoing.

Botulinum Toxin Injections – this is also known as botox and they can provide some results for up to a 6 month duration. There can be some side effects such as the muscle within the hands actually becoming weaker over time.

There are some treatments available but you should always talk to your doctor to what options will be best for you before taking any kind of action.
