What Is Axillary Hyperhidrosis?
by Louise Forrest

A part of the natural process that the body goes through is sweating, and it is happening all the time even when you are sitting still. Despite that sweating is a natural bodily process there are some people that sweat too much and too often, and they are generally resistant to all forms of deodorants.

Should you be in a position where you suffer from this condition you could be actually be tempted not to wear anything as the sweat can often show through the clothes that you are wearing. The reason a lot of people suffer here is that the nervous system is highly over active.

Now this condition does appear to affect those in their teenage years a lot more but it can also happen to children who have yet to become teenagers. It can often be worse for children as other children can and do often make remarks and such remarks can be quite upsetting for some children.

What seems to cause this condition from occurring is anxiety and this seems to go away as the person matures. People who do suffer from such a condition are less likely to be socially active and children are often too shy to discuss such matters with their parents and other family members.

Of course there are treatments that can help with this condition and a common treatment is Drysol which can actually help to clog the pores and significantly reduce the amount of sweat that is produced by the body. The only drawback, is that the results are not permanent and there can be some irritation to the skin if it is used for too long a period of time. There can also be a burning sensation and if so this should be stopped being used without further delay.

So what treatments last?

There is something called EndoScopic Thoracic Sympathectomy, which stops the signal of nerve to the actual sweat gland, and this stops all sweating from taking place ever again.

To undergo such a surgery you will need to ensure that you have a high quality surgeon and what happens is that the nerves are located and cut in order to prevent the body from sweating again whether this be from the face, hands, armpits or hands even.

It can take a few days before a person can return to work or school after having had the operation. There is a very high success rate and the operation is very safe indeed. So if you do suffer from this condition, you should talk about this option with your doctor before going ahead.
