| Cosmetic Surgery:
Your Thoughts Please |
| by Louise Forrest |

You are
constantly told by the media whether it be on television
or in the glossy magazines that you must be thin in
order to be considered beautiful and that your skin
needs to be perfect and flawless.
If you watch reality TV you are asked to vote off the
person that you dislike the most and you have never
even met them. We are living in a world where looks
say it all really.
As well as this you are told that the problem to the
way you look can be resolved by means of plastic surgery
and there are many that believe if they opt for such
a treatment then their lives will change for the better.
But you need to be very careful if you are considering
surgery as there are people who gone to extremes in
order to look good only to end up disfigured.
Whilst surgery could improve your looks there is no
indication of how you will look until after the operation
itself. There are cases where plastic surgery is totally
justified but in the majority of cases the use of surgery
for cosmetic enhancement is very over used. In today’s
modern world there is a lot of pressure to maintain
a certain level of appearance in order to stay young
and glamorous looking, especially for young girls who
may be easily influenced by their idols for instance.
If you are certain of having surgery then for many there
is very little to change the mind once it has been set.
But young people do not realise that their body is still
growing and the body that they have now is not the body
that they could have in say a few years time. There
are just too many people who rush into surgery without
taking the time to think about the procedures and also
the consequences should things not go to plan.
Nowadays there are a number of types of surgery that
can be performed for almost anything. Provided that
you are able to meet the fees of the plastic surgeons
you can have literally anything you wish done to your
body. But you should also make the decision to have
surgery your own decision and not allow anyone or anything
to make that decision for you, after all it is you that
will be living with the results and no body else.
Just like any other kind of surgery, cosmetic surgery
or plastic surgery is still surgery and that means an
operation where you will be cut and that there could
be complications. As well as hearing of success stories
of people who have had plastic surgery to enhance their
appearance there are also stories of high profile celebrities
where surgery has gone terribly wrong and they looking
freakish and very unattractive to look at indeed.
At the end of the day you need to make sure that you
are having surgery for the right reasons and that you
are the only person who you are having the surgery for.
Never allow any other factors enter your mind for wanting
to have surgery. |
