Too Much Sun Exposure |
| by Louise Forrest |
| |
During
the summer time there is probably a day that does not
go by without some kind of warning about being over
exposed to the sun. Is it really going to harm us or
does someone just want to stop us from enjoying ourselves?
Sadly the dangers from the sun are real, and no one
should expose themselves to direct sunlight without
any kind of sun protection.
A lot of people go out in the sun wearing no kind
of protection, because they do it all the time, and
they just think that nothing has happened to them.
They get a nice tan and cannot think that any harm
has happened to them. Everyone thinks that skin cancer
will never happen to them, but it is this thinking
that is very dangerous indeed.
When you go out in the sun without any kind of sun
block or lotion you are putting yourself at risk.
And a tan, whilst it may look good is nothing more
than burnt skin.
That is the reason why sun block and sun lotions
have been created. They allow us to go out in the
sun with protection, and you need to make sure the
product you are using has a SPF of no less than 18.
You may need something higher if you have very skin.
Skin cancer is the worst damage that you can do to
your skin. Even if you are in the sun for just 30
minutes that is enough to put you at risk. It can
happen to anyone and age is not a restriction. The
way to tell if you have skin cancer is to look for
any moles on the body.
Another way that the sun can cause damage to the
skin is that the skin can age if exposed to the sun
for too long. And you may also develop liver spots
are age spots at some point also too.
As well as these issues, too much exposure to the
sun can result in the skin becoming thicker and also
thinner in some cases. In simple terms, the thin layer
of skin does not stand a chance against the might
of the sun.
Now you must keep yourself at all times – wear
sunglasses to protect your eyes and wear sun block
or sun lotion to protect the skin. You can never be
too safe when in the sun so it is always best to cover up. |
