Protect Children From The Sun |
| by Louise Forrest |
| |
Protecting
the skin from the sun is essential and for any and all
age groups. It is also important that adults take care
of their children from the dangers of the sun also.
This is not just about sun screen but making sure that
they are also hydrated enough too.
Here are simple ways to make sure that you children
are well protected
Keep them well protected
You should use a SPF of no less than 15 on your children
and making sure that the lotion has been rubbed onto
the skin properly and not just applied to the skin.
And make sure that the sun screen has been applied
at least 30 minutes before the child goes out into
the sun.
Never leave babies in the sun as they are more than
likely to burn given that their skin is very fragile.
But do make sure that you baby is wearing clothing
that will keep them cool and protect them from the
sun.
Keep them in the shade
This is something that should be done as often as
possible. You should prevent your children being outside
when the sun is at its highest.
Use sensible clothing
Making sure that you child is properly covered in
loose clothing will also help. Loose clothes will
keep them cool but will protect their skin from the
rays of the sun. You may also want to encourage your
child to wear a hat when in the sun.
Reapply sunscreen
If you child has been playing in water then you should
reapply the lotion straight away, even if the lotion
bottle says that the cream is waterproof. It is best
to be safe than sorry, as even some waterproof sun
lotions can still wash off.
Generally speaking you just need to follow some very
simple steps and to monitor the times that your children
spend in the sun. |
