You would
expect that out of all the days in the year, the days
during the summer months are the ones where you can
hope to relax the most. But whilst it is a great time,
summer can also bring with it a lot of grief and upset.
Whilst people with oily skin will see their condition
become worse, and people with dry skin could experience
more dryness and there is always the risk of skin
cancer, there are also a number of rashes that could
develop as a result of the summer heat.
So the summer has finally arrived and you are taking
part in many of the great activities with your friends.
But these activities have a risk associated with them,
and that is that rashes can appear due to the excess
heat that the skin has to cope with. Whatever the
type of rash is, they can be sore, itchy and very
annoying.
Here are some common rashes that tend to appear
during the summer:
Heat rash – the most common type
of rash to develop during the summer and is common with
people who have very fair skin. It is identified by
small blisters and can be very itchy. To prevent this
type of rash you need a sun lotion or sun block.
Drugs – it is quite possible
that some medications could make a person more sensitive
to the sun than normal.
Photoallergic Dermatitis –
some products can develop a rash such as when using
perfumes or even soaps. If you do notice a rash that
has been caused by a product, then you should stop
using that product forever.
Prickly heat – this is generally
caused by when you sweat too much.
Plants – there are certain
plants that if you come into contact with you will
gain a rash of some kind. Your best bet is to avoid
wild plants.
Insects – these are very common
in the summer months as insects are attracted to the
heat from the sun. You should always have some kind
of insect repellent to hand.
The only real way to treat a rash that you may have
developed is not to scratch it not matter how itchy
it is. By scratching the rash you are running the
risk of that rash becoming infected and then the whole
condition can become a lot worse.
If needed, you are best seeking medical advice for
the rash that you have and to get the best options
for you.
