During summer you just want to have fun and to be able to look your best at all times. But summer is not that simple and problems can take place. As well as obvious concerns we need to be aware of matters such as those who have oily skin for instance. Just what do you do to avoid problems with your skin during the summer months?

Thankfully there are a number of products that help us look good and healthy. During the summer you need to be taking care of your skin, hair and lips and making sure that they are protected from the harmful rays of the sun. So what can help us to protect ourselves from the sun then?

The most obvious one is a good sun lotion. Whilst there are many adverts and information about the importance of wearing sun lotion, it often does go ignored. And you need to make especially sure that the sun lotion that you do use is 100% waterproof.

You can use a simple sun lotion if you wish, but if you wish to go for a swim it will not protect you from the water and then you will need to apply the lotion again. So as soon as you come of the sea for instance you are at risk straight away from the glaring sun. This is something that you need to aim to avoid at all costs.

The optimal way to apply sun lotion is to skin that is dry and to then wait for say 20 minutes before you go outside. You do not need to use the full bottle, but you should be well covered from the sun.

A lot of people seem to forget all about their hair. It has the first point of contact with the sun and the heat from the sun can cause the hair to become damaged. Now you can get spray on hair spray that have a SPF and these are great at protecting the hair and the scalp too. If you are not going to use such a spray then the next best thing is wear a hat. Whatever method you choose you should protect your hair and also your scalp from the hot sun.

And finally you should not forget those lips – you can easily find lip balms that will help to protect the lips also from the sun, and some even have a SPF as high as 24, so look around for the one that is best for you.
