Summer Skin Challenges
by Louise Forrest

It is true that during the winter, you really need to spend some special attention towards your skin. But during the summer, the same also applies. In fact it applies all year round. During the summer you need to be aware of making sure that you are protected against the sun and also minimise the risk of any premature ageing.

When the sun shines and there is warmth people are much more happy. But the body just needs to survive another season in the year. There are problems for people at all times of the year. In the winter, this is a issue for those with dryness, and for those with oiliness it is the summer time that is the issue.

As well as this you have the problems of sun burns and rashes that are very common in the summer months.

You may think that this is all that you need to worry about, but when it is warm then there tends to be a lot of insects, and bites from such little creatures can also develop into problems of their own. The problems seem to never end and you would hope that summer would be the one time of the year when you can relax and enjoy the sun. But in reality it is very hard work.

There really are many ways that you can protect your skin during the summer and the obvious one is to use sun tan lotion. As well as the danger of getting burned from the sun, there is also the risk of sun cancer, so you need to make sure that you are well protected.

It is suggested that you aim for products that have a SPF of no less than 18 and if you have very fair skin then this should be even higher. And when you apply the lotion, do make sure that you are rubbing the lotion into the skin and not just slapping it on. This will not do.

You should always be willing to adapt to change and this also applies to skin care. So if you have dry skin or oily skin then you should see what products are available and more suitable for whenever the season changes.

Always aim to use products that are chemical free as these will help hydrate your skin if it is dry and to help control the glands if you have oily skin.
