Summer Skin Care
by Louise Forrest

Well summer is here and your can feel the warmth on your skin. During the summer you wear less clothing due to the heat, your hair is tied back and you are wearing sandals to help keep your feet cool.

Doing this does expose the skin to the UV rays of the sun and other pollutants. Is this a wise thing to actually do?

If you are suffering from dry skin that summer is more than likely to be a better time than winter, simply because your skin is sweating and is therefore more likely to be more moist. But if you are a oily sufferer then you are unlikely to enjoy the summer and the glands are more active, you are sweating more and this does not really help you.

You need to adapt the way that you care for your skin as the months go on especially during the months of winter and summer.

One thing that you can do as a method for exfoliating is to use a small amount with some sugar. This will allow the honey to moisturise the skin and the sugar will then gently exfoliate your skin without any damage at all. You should use this on the face as the skin here is very delicate.

You can use this mixture for the body also, but the skin here tends to be more tough and thick so you can use a good exfoliating product found in most stores.

Regardless of whether you are exfoliating your face or your body, you should always massage the scrub gently into the skin with circular movements and leave for 5 minutes.

After this you can then rinse with just warm water and not hot water. There is no need to cleanse the skin afterwards as honey itself is a natural cleanser, so you are already perfectly clean. This simple exfoliating lotion that you have made will take away any debris and germs without stripping your skin of its own essential oils.

It does not really matter what you use, when it comes to looking after your skin but you do need to make sure that you are looking after your skin all the time. Remember to use products that have SPF or even better to actually use a sun block. Doing so will have possible complications such as the skin becoming burnt or even reducing the risk of hyperpigmentation of the skin.
