Do You Know What Organic Skin Care Is?
by Louise Forrest

In order to get a true understanding of what organic skin care actually is, you first need to get an understanding of what is meant by organic farming. This is because the raw materials used are organically produced.

What this means to you is that the ingredients that have been used have been produced using only organic methods. And the recognition for this is normally certified organic.

But there are companies that are making false claims about their products actually being organic and they actually sell non-organic based products with organic based products too.

Organic farming is how farming should be done and this is without the use of chemicals but relying on simple measures such as soil nourishment and crop rotation. Plants that are grown in soil that has been correctly nourished have shown to have greater resistance to disease.

It is because of this resistance that plants that are organic have no need for the use of any kind of man made fertilizers, and in order to protect the plants the farmers still do not use any kind of synthetic products that rely upon chemicals.

But this does not mean that organic plants are totally chemically free. Because of the overuse of pesticides, the rain carries them, which in turn means that organic plants are still subject to pesticides as well as other toxins that are in the air.

What organic is all about, is the way various products are actually grown. During organic farming the health of the environment is taken in to account at all times.

The main focus is to protect the environment such as the regeneration of soil and helping to conserve water supplies are the biggest issues as well as the welfare of animals that may be living off the environment.

In the case where animals are raised organically only a diet of organic food is actually used, and this means absolutely no chemicals or hormones are actually consumed by any livestock at all.

In order for a product to be classed as certified organic it needs to meet a level of high standards. These standards are set and verified often by third party bodies and on sometimes this may also include the government.

For certification to be passed the farm and the actual processing methods need to be checked. Once the inspection has been performed only then can certification be granted.

Organic farming is growing at an alarming rate due to the increased demand for organic products, and it goes much further than the food you find in most stores.
