| Organic Skin Care for your Feet |
| by Louise Forrest |
| |
Let’s
face it, skin care in general can be a pretty expensive
pursuit. You could randomly pick a women out of a crowd,
go to her home and check her medicine cabinet and you
would be shocked at the amount of money that has been
invested in creams, ointments, and elixirs. But if you
have made the conscious choice to pursue skin care on
a wholly organic level, you might just break the bank
entirely.
And the worst part is you are never completely positive
that you are getting authentic organic skin care in
the products you buy. Even if they are certified, most
folks have that nagging voice in the back of their heads
that always asks, “Is it really true?” The
only real way to guarantee yourself organic skin care
is to make your own solutions and remedies yourself.
Here are a few simple, organic treatments you can give
to one of the most neglected parts of your body: your
feet. |
| |
| There
are 26 bones in the human foot, and after a day of standing
or walking, you can feel every one of them ache. We
all want to find that perfect cream or rub that not
only makes the skin on your feet shine, but also soothes
and heals them, too. Here are some great concoctions
you can try at home, and the best part, they won’t
cost you an arm and a foot. |
| |
It is
amazing what the contents of your cabinets can do for
your skin. One of the most underrated cleansers for
your skin, and especially for your feet, is honey. An
excellent and very inexpensive scrub that you can do
at home is to simply take a single tablespoon of all-natural
organic clover honey and apply it to a warm, clean washcloth
and scrub your feet.
Pay extra attention to the toes and around your nails.
The honey is naturally antibacterial and nothing on
earth acts as a better moisturizer for your tender and
stressed-out tootsies. You will, most likely, need a
shower afterwards, however. |
| |
Maybe
no single treatment is more relaxing after a long day
at work than a long, hot foot soak. But other than using
Epson salts and hot water, what can you do to benefit
your skin, while at the same time relaxing your feet
after a day of standing? Well, it depends on what you
want to get out of it. Some foot soaks are for energizing,
others are for relaxing and some aren’t even soaks
at all! Let’s start with the first category. |
| |
Most
people would buy organic milk to drink, or at the very
least have on their cereal. But organic milk can also
make for a great foot bath. Add in a few cups of organic
milk to a mixture of hot water, Epson salts and a fragrant,
moisturizing oil of your choice. Any essential oil will
work. It is best to choose the one you find the most
soothing and relaxing. Combine the ingredients and soak
your feet for 15 minutes. You’ll love the way
your feet feel afterwards. |
Another good soak includes adding hot water, Epson
salts, essential oils and the peels from 3 middle-sized
organic oranges. The oils in the orange peels will
slowly blend in with the other essential oils you
added and create a super-moisturizing bath that will
have your feet thanking you again and again.
|
| |
Organic
skin care for your feet isn’t a complicated chore,
nor does it have to be expensive. Some essential oils
can be pricy, but they last a very long time. You can
concoct your own magical formulas, too. The ultimate
goal here is relaxation and beautiful, all-natural skin
care. |
