How To Get The Best Results From Facial Message - Part II
by Louise Forrest

The first thing you need to consider when you are planning a skin massage regimen is your skin type. Along with this, you will need to look at the proper oils/moisturizers to use during the massage. These considerations are very important because improper decision here can affect the results.

You can cause breakouts or added dryness; you can cause your skin to stretch from a massage if the skin's surface is not slick enough. Organic moisturizers can be made, using special ingredients that will give you the slickness you need, but you still need to use one according to your skin type.

Remember that the first few true massages can possibly have pimples appear within a day of the massage as your body rids itself of toxins locked in your pores. Proper organic facial care will take care of this and regular massages will keep it from happening in the future.

The following list will guide you in your choice of the proper emollient to use for your facial. This compilation consists of skin types, then emollient types. For instance, if you have dry skin and prefer moisturizers, make the organic moisturizer listed. You do not need to use all of the emollients listed for dry skin.

Dry Skin Moisturizer - you will need: 1/8 cup jojoba, 1/8 cup avocado oil, and 5 drops pure lavender essential oil. To make: warm Jojoba in a microwave safe bowl; add remaining oils and stir well - best used while warm. Store refrigerated in airtight container and warm small amounts for use.
Dry Skin Oil: avocado or wheat germ oils (buy organic so that you are not also infusing your skin with chemicals from pesticides and commercial fertilizers)
Normal Skin Moisturizer - you will need: 1/8 cup organic jojoba, 1/8 cup organic almond oil, and 5 drops pure organic lavender essential oil. To make: warm jojoba in a microwave safe bowl; add remaining oils and stir well - best used while warm. Store refrigerated in airtight container and warm small amounts for use.
Normal Skin Oil: almond or sunflower oils (buy organic so that you are not also infusing your skin with chemicals from pesticides and commercial fertilizers)
Oily Skin Moisturizer - you will need: 1/8 cup organic jojoba, 1/8 cup organic peach kernel oil, and 5 drops pure organic lavender essential oil. To make: warm jojoba in a microwave safe bowl; add remaining oils and stir well - best used while warm. Store refrigerated in airtight container and warm small amounts for use.
Oily Skin Oil: hazelnut or peach kernel oils (buy organic so that you are not also infusing your skin with chemicals from pesticides and commercial fertilizers)

To add anti-aging properties to any of the above moisturizers, add a dab (less than ½ teaspoon of royal jelly to the amount of moisturizer that you are going to use for your facial. ADD AFTER YOU WARM THE MOISTURIZER, MAKING SURE THE MOISTURIZER IS NOT TOO HOT.

This jelly has excellent healing properties for your skin and is a great organic ingredient to add to organic moisturizers and lotions, but should always add it just before use. Buy active jelly in refrigerated sections of health food stores.

Note: Acne can actually be your skin's response to a need for more moisture try using the moisturizer for your massage and add 1 tablespoon of pure aloe vera gel (straight from the plant). The fresh, pure aloe has antibacterial properties which will help heal and smooth the skin. For this condition, use a bit of trial and error to determine what works best for you.

Try doing a very quick, light facial daily for a week and see what is happening. You may decide to do it every other day or even less frequently, depending on the results. This is one of the few situations that massage should be done with such frequency, but it is still important to use a light touch. You want to move your muscles, but not shove them around.
