Skin CareVol 2 |
| An Old Idea |
| by Louise Forrest

It has
been only recently that organic skin care has become
a craze, and a few years ago it was not really heard
of. But despite this, there were still people who wanted
to be using products that were naturally based.
Such simple ingredients can be oatmeal for an exfoliating
lotion; cucumber to help to freshen the eyes and lemon
juice to help tighten the hair and also the skin too.
The instance manufacturing companies took notice
of the buying trends of people, they adapted to include
more natural ingredients into their products to entice
buying. The products became very popular and nearly
everyone was seeing the benefits of using skin care
that was naturally based. But the use of natural ingredients
to take for the skin is not a new idea by any means.
All that has happened is that a new angle has been
put on something that has been taking place for centuries.
Places such as Egypt and India have always turned
to natural ingredients for healing and bringing beauty
to the skin. The only thing that has happened today
is that the world of science is more advanced.
Science has allowed us to examine certain ingredients
and their properties and what they can do to benefit
the skin in the long term. These include antioxidants
and also astringents.
Some of the most organic based products will have
an element of man made chemicals as they are needed
in most cases to actually preserve the product, but
the skin will gain benefit from the organic ingredients,
so the fact that synthetic ingredients are used is
nothing to really worry about at all.
But organic skin care goes deeper than just looking
good. It is about keeping the skin healthy not from
the outside but from the inside also. Being naturally
beautiful by means of natural ingredients will be
more rewarding than relying on ingredients that are
synthetic based.
Here are some great natural ingredients that you
can use to improve the condition of your skin:
Honey – this has fantastic antioxidant
strengths and will help to protect your skin from the
damage of free radicals. It can also be used to revive
tired looking skin, and for this reason alone, that
is why honey is added to many skin care products.
Shea Butter – This has many benefits
to the skin and can help people who are suffering from
eczema and other skin conditions. She butter has a calming
effect on the skin and this can be very therapeutic
to your skin
Jojoba – this acts as a natural
moisturiser and can help to soften skin. This is ideal
for people with eczema and really does help to calm
the skin. |
