| Make Up Tips For Oily Skin |
| by Louise Forrest |
| |
Oily skin is a common occurrence. The facial skin
easily produces oil that affects the overall quality
and aesthetic appeal of the skin. There are specific
oil glands that are specifically located in some identified
portions of the facial area like the nose, the forehead
and the chin. Teenagers are more prone to developing
oily skin as changes in hormone levels start to set
in during the passageway to adulthood. However, oily
skin is not confined exclusively to teens. Even adults
can still experience it, especially when hormones
are not regulated or when lifestyle and hereditary
factors make them prone to the skin problem.
One major setback when suffering from oily skin is
the effect the condition will have when makeup is
applied. Imagine the oiliness of your skin mixing
with the powders and substances present in makeup.
You can readily infer that there definitely would
be patches of mess and accumulation of dirt-looking
substances. Other than that, makeup combined with
oil in the skin spells mess and danger for the facial
skin. Overall health of skin in that body part surely
would experience adverse effects and further degradation.
So how would you make sure your makeup is applied
properly and advisably if you have oily skin? The
following guidelines would surely help. |
| |
| - |
If
possible, try to avoid wearing or applying too
heavy makeup on your oily face. Contrary to usual
perceptions, makeup does not patch up or treat
oiliness of the skin. Yes, oil does not readily
appear when you have makeup on, but wait for a
few hours and for sure, oiliness would start to
appear. What is worse is that the viscosity of
the oily in the skin would not be prevented or
covered up because oil inevitably would appear
on the skin. Oily skin plus makeup would only
make the face look patchy and blotchy. |
| - |
Reduce
the amount required for your foundation by using
concealers. However, concealers should never be
used to replace foundation. Apply concealers only
after putting on sufficient and appropriate amounts
of foundation. Concealers are just like that,
they conceal unwanted spots, blemishes and sometimes
oiliness. Blend the foundation and concealers
first before applying. As you do the procedure,
blot out oil in the face using an appropriate
and effective oil absorbing powder. |
| - |
It
is advisable to use a single shade of light foundation
when covering up the dark spots that arise from
formation and presence of oil in the face. |
| - |
Do
not use shimmery and shiny makeup. These would
not hide or combat the shiny and messy look of
oil in the skin. Instead, shimmer on other areas,
probably the lips to provide distraction from
other features. Use natural and soft hues or colors
in the cheeks. |
| - |
Constantly,
take out oil formation while you are wearing makeup
by blotting the oil with blotting paper. |
|
| |
Of course,
it is advisable that after the whole day or before your
bedtime, you should immediately, thoroughly and effectively
remove makeup from your face. This would help make your
oily skin show improvements. Further problems regarding
the skin condition would also be avoided. |
