Eat Your Way To Better Looking Skin

Diets have been the craze lately; diet in order to lose weight, diet to get the body that you have always dreamed of, diet so that you can fit into your bathing suit this summer, diet so you can…get better looking skin? That is right; a diet can actually turn oily skin into beautiful skin by eating the right foods and combining it with other lifestyle choices! Here is how:

The skin, just like everything else in the body, is affected by how you treat the body as a whole. One thing can affect several things and the right diet can actually play a significant role in how oily skin looks! For better looking skin you should look to a diet with little sugar and salt and lots of protein. Fruit and vegetables are definitely a plus in the diet in order to get rid of oily skin as well! Here are some other foods that are great for oily skin conditions:
 
Whole grain foods such as cereals, breads and bagels
Oatmeal and/ or Grits
Pastas and salads
Black beans
Whole rice
Peanuts and other various nuts
Buckwheat
 
If you want to get the most from taking your diet to the next level you will look to vitamins to fill the void that food can not. Vitamins such as the B’s (especially B2), protein supplements, and iron supplements are crucial if you are looking to cure your oily skin through your diet.

Also, another consideration to make is your fluid intake. It is glasses per day but for someone with oily skin you are going to need more then this. Good water will hydrate the skin completely and push out any unneeded toxins that may be sitting within the skin. Water also helps rejuvenate the skin so that it appears healthier then ever! (Even if you do not suffer from oily skin you may want to consider drinking more then the minimum of water because of the great effects it has for your skin in its entirety).


Fat be gone!

So, you want to know the quickest way to increase the oily appearance in your skin? All you really have to do is increase the fat levels that you are consuming each day and your skin will appear oilier then ever! Just the opposite, if you consume less fat then usual you will notice a decrease in the oily nature your skin has. Avoid any highly processed foods, fried foods or animal fats.

Here are a few tips under this category:
 
Do not cook with oils or eat any oils that have been heat processed. If you need oil in a particular recipe turn to olive oil.
Stay away from soft drinks and other carbonated beverages
Go light on alcoholic beverages- literally!
Put the junk food back on the shelf and out of your shopping cart!
 
The types and quantities of fat that you eat play a considerable role in the appearance of your skin.

If you think about it long enough you can probably come up with a multitude of reasons why you do not like your oily skin. In fact, you probably have a pretty large list just off the top of your head! No one likes the feeling of oily skin and even though it can be hereditary, many times people bring it upon themselves just by what they eat and how they eat it. You can make a difference in how your own skin looks by following the diet tips above and taking your eating habits seriously!
