According to a survey, one of two young Americans has an oily skin problem. The big question which always pops up in front of those who have oily skin is, will it go away ever?

Before finding solution to this problem, first let’s have a glance why this situation arises. The reason for skin to become oily is due to over expression/ hyper activity of sebaceous glands. Now one might ponder over the assertion that what are sebaceous glands? To quench curiosity of such those, sebaceous glands are those glands which are responsible for production of sebum or oil. The activity/ rate of production of sebum/ oil vary from person to person. Difference in activities is primary responsible for the fact that some people have oily skin or some don’t have.

Oily skin can be either transitory or permanent. It is permanent in case of those who have chronically oily skin. Chronically oily skin stands for that skin in which over expression of sebaceous glands is witnessed for generations. The worst is that, people having chronically oily skin can’t do much as this problem is in their genes and they have to face problems like acne, shiny skin, and dull appearance for many years.

The best solution if you have chronically oily skin is seeking the help of a dermatologist. Most of people don’t suffer from chronically oily skin. But this problem erupts due to imbalance in hormones during transition from puberty to teenage. Due to hormonal changes, sebaceous glands start producing high amount of oil and this cross the limits. The excessive oil is secreted out resulting in oily skin. Though these changes become normalized once hormonal activity change is completed, still if one has the zeal, he/ she can control the problem well. During that period when you are facing the problem of oily skin, you should take good care of your skin. Bathe twice a day and use gentle face washes which are low on detergents and high on moisturizers. Acne breakouts are also seen in women who are either pregnant or going through menopausal change.

Your eating habits also determine to a great extent the eruption of acnes or blackheads. Youngsters in their teenage love to eat junk food. It seems that they can’t live without eating burgers, pizzas and coke. By consuming junk food, no doubt they enjoy it, but along with this, they are giving an open invitation for acnes and pimples. Try to stay on healthy and nutritious foods.

The best way to overcome problem of oily skin is by taking good care of it. Clean it, exfoliate it, and use a toner if necessary. Try to make a routine in which you can take good care of your skin. Learn as much as you can about this problem of yours as it will help you a long way to understand it.
