| Oily Skin Causes and
Prevention |
| by Louise Forrest |
| |
For many
people, oily skin is a real problem. Aside from the
stigma of the shiny face, there is the issue of acne
and blackheads that can cause further problems. When
all those things come together, it is easy to see that
oily skin is a problem that must be addressed. The best
first step is to understand what causes oily skin in
the first place and you might be able to prevent it
so that you never have to face the issue yourself. |
| |
| Oily Skin Causes |
There
are several things that can cause you to develop oily
skin. Perhaps the most common reason is that it is a
result of hormonal changes. Teenagers and those in their
early twenties can develop oily skin. Additionally,
pregnant women or those nearing their menstrual period
may notice that they develop oily skin at those times.
The reason: hormones.
Another reason you may get oily skin is through simple
heredity. That is right; if your mother or father has
oily skin then there is a pretty decent possibility
that you will end up with it too. |
| |
| Prevention of Oily Skin |
So whether
you already have oily skin from heredity or you are
worried that you are developing it, there are some things
you can do to help yourself. Consider these tips below.
First, if you have oily skin then it is imperative that
you clean your face often. The idea is that you need
to remove the dirt from the pores in the skin of your
face. As you clean your face to fight your oily skin
acne, you should remember to use cold water rather than
hot. Hot water can actually make your problems worse.
|
| |
Secondly,
stay far away from products that are built on an oil
base. Remember that your skin is oily, which means more
oil is not helpful. If you have dry skin, these products
are great, but for oily skin you should look for something
that does not have oil in it |
| |
Thirdly,
you should never forget to take off your makeup at nights.
Many women, at the end of a long day, will forget to
off their makeup. This can really cause a problem if
you have oily skin already. The problem is that as the
pores are clogged by makeup which fools the body into
thinking that more oil needs. This then causes a problem
with the oily skin once again. |
| |
Fourth,
make sure you keep yourself as far away from stress
as you can. Oily skin, it turns out, can be linked to
stress and anxiety. That means that in addition to worrying
about caring directly for your oily skin, you also need
to make sure you are treating your whole body for wellness.
This can lower stress levels and hence lower your oily
skin problems. It is the simplest treatment to prevent
or control oily skin that you will likely see. |

So as
you can see, there are plenty of ways for you to stop
your oily skin. Additionally, through the right use
of programs, you can even prevent the appearance of
oily skin. NO matter which you choose to use, though,
you need to make sure you take care of yourself overall.
Doctors think that there is a definite connection between
your overall well being and the amount of oily skin
you may have.
Once you have it, though, you can certainly attack it
through the use of over the counter medication, consistent
and frequent face washing. So with a few simple steps
in mind and the knowledge of where oily skin comes from,
you are ready to fight against its onset as well as
its presence after the fact. |
