Top Ways to Care for Oily Skin
by Louise Forrest

There are many skin conditions for which you may want to understand treatment. If you happen to have oily skin, then you probably already know how tough summers can be in particular. As temperatures rise, so does the production of oily by your skin. The result: oily skin problems that need to be treated.

Factors
Before you can really understand how to treat your oily skin, you need to understand what causes it. There are, in fact, several factors that can lead to oily skin.
For one, it is hereditary. If you have a parent with oily skin, then odds are that you will have it too. There is nothing you can really do to prevent this, so if you know that the oily skin is hereditary for you, then you know that you will simply have to learn to treat your oily skin as best you can.

Another factor can be your hormones. For instance, you will probably notice that many people in their teens and early 20s have oily skin. Additionally, you will find that women who are pregnant will often develop oily skin even when they did not have it before the pregnancy. It is those hormonal changes that can spark the onset of oily skin.

Oily Skin Treatments
Lucky for you, there are some treatments out there that can help you with your oily skin. Here are some of the top ways to keep your oily skin in check that are proven to work.

First of all, as simple and obvious as it may sound, you should keep your oily skin clean as much as possible. Using a glycerin soap to wash your face at least twice daily can go a long way in keeping your oily skin looking and feeling better. You can also splash it with cold water to get excess oil off your oily skin.

A third thing to pay attention to is actually treating your oily skin to the point that it dries out. To prevent that from happening to you, be sure to use a facial mist. Mists are generally made up of mineral water that has been enhanced with vitamins and herbs. Coupled with a program to dry the oil on your skin, you end up with skin that is not overly dry, but is also not oily skin anymore either.

Believe it or not, a fourth method for fixing your oily skin is to avoid moisturizers even when it feels dry. That is because the ingredients in moisturizers can actually clog your pours and leave you with acne and other negative effects. Instead, stick with your mineral water and herbs.

Finally, you can scrub your face. Scrubs you can buy at the store are great for removing oil from oily skin. The only reason this would be a bad idea is if you suffer from facial acne. In that case, you do not want to aggravate what you already have.

Summing Up
So if you do suffer from oily skin, you know that it can be a problem year round, but especially in the summer. To prevent your oily skin from becoming a real problem, you should try the treatments above. Think about cleaning more often, using a mineral oil, avoiding moisturizers, and maybe even buying a facial scrub. With a little work, your oily skin can be managed.
