Are Biting Your Nails?
by Louise Forrest

Women all over the world love to take care of their appearance and to be pampered as much as much possible either at home or ideally at a luxury salon. With all the many products that are available on the market there seems to be one part of the body that seems to be left out – the nails.

But one thing that people seem to be doing is actually damaging their nails by biting them on a regular basis and this can cause your nails to become uneven and look ugly.

As well as this, by biting your nails you are actually ingesting a great number of germs as there is actually a great amount of bacteria under the finger nails.

It is also known that the actual state of your nails can be an indicator for the overall state of your health and wellbeing, and if you are in a profession where you are using your hands a lot, such as public speaking, your hands will always be on display.

But in order to look after your nails correctly you need to be able to understand them more and just exactly they need.

Within the nail is a protein that is called Keratin. They exist on our nails in order to protect them and they help you to make up everyday objects. But for many women, their nails are more of a cosmetic accessory and they generally wear false nails or have regular treatments to the nails on a regular basis.

Having treatments to the nail is actually a good idea if you can afford it, but they do help to keep the nails healthy and strong, and this is essential.

Overall hygiene of the hands and nails is important and this is something that should be done a daily basis without fail. Using a simple hand cream can aid the protection and strength of your hands and nails and you can also obtain specific polishes that can help strengthen the nails even further.

But with all this care and attention that you are now giving to your hands it does not mean that you are now in a better position to start biting your nails, simple because the products that you will be applying to your nails will taste horrible. If all you do is bite your nails without taking any real care of your nails then all you are doing is injecting a great many germs into your body and there is a possibility that you can develop infections such as sores within the mouth.

It is generally a good idea that you do not bite your nails as it will be better for your health and the state of your nails will also be in a much better conditions.
