Wearing Make Up Just Because You Are Older! |
| by Louise Forrest |
| |
It is a matter
of fact that most women absolutely love wearing make up. It
helps to make them feel confident, and it can help to hide
blemishes and other faults a woman feels that she has. However
when women starts to age, she is sometimes unsure as to how
much make up to wear, and some simply do not bother at all
as they feel they will look silly. |
| |
As you age,
using less make up is better by far, and it is better to step
up your skin care routine instead. The makeup needs to be
applied so that the face has been lifted to make you feel
a lot younger and a lot more beautiful. |
| |
When you use
your cosmetics, they should not be something that you are
hiding behind, but rather used to enhance your mature looks
and to show your true beauty. |
| |
So before beginning
to apply your makeup you should use a water-based moisturizing
cream or lotion to prepare your face. After this, just give
it a few moments for it to settle and then next apply a good
foundation which matches your skin tone as closely as possible.
It is best to apply the foundation as light as possible, and
try to apply it to the neck area as well as to the face. |
| |
To help correct
and enhance your facial features, a corrector tint is the
best thing to use and it can either be used alone or with
makeup. It is best to experiment with this, but one suggestion
is to apply it underneath your foundation. You should apply
this with your finger, and make sure that you blend it in
well using a dabbing motion. |
| |
Now you can
place a dark tint just below the cheekbones and the temples.
It is also a good idea to place a dark tint below the chin
area. Dot this dark tint around the jaws covering any saggy
areas, making them recede.
You can give your nose the illusion that it is being narrowed
by using the dark tint at either side of the nose, but make
sure that you blend it in well. It is not wise to use any
dark tints for any strong contouring on the cheeks because
it creates unwanted shadows that will make you look older.
A yellow tint is good to even out any dark discolouration
or blemish areas that you may have. |
| |
A lighter tint
can highlight or bring skin areas forward, including the nose
and brow bone. A light tint can also be used to line areas
on the forehead and also around the mouth. To help even out
any discoloration or blemish areas, a yellow tint can be used. |
| |
If you are
happy with this you can then use a loose powder which is a
shade lighter than your own skin tone. To help you apply this
to your face, you can use a puff or a powder brush, but make
sure to keep the powder light. Do not rub the powder in as
it will end up putting streaks in your makeup. The idea of
the loose powder is to help soften the lines and to blend
in the makeup, ensuring that it will last all day. |
| |
If you decide
to use a blusher, make sure it is a matte shade which includes
either pinks or light corals, and you also need to ensure
that it is blended in well. |
| |
There are so
many different things that a mature person can do with their
make up, that you are absolutely spoiled for choice. It is
all a matter of personal preference and down to a bit of practise
in order to achieve the look that you feel most comfortable
with. However, you can have fun trying out different techniques
to make you look younger and that will also help with your
confidence. |
