Early Morning Beauty Tricks
by Louise Forrest

Ladies, let’s face it. Most of the time when we wake up in the morning, we do not exactly feel our best, much less look like goddesses. Our hair is all matted (or sticking out in all directions), dark circles can pop up under our eyes, our face might be a bit puffy, and our teeth are probably in need of a bit of brushing. There is not anything wrong with looking sluggish in the morning, especially in the early morning. No one wants to wake up at 4 in the morning. In fact, a lot of people are not even too excited about waking up at 6 in the morning. Still, many of us have jobs that require us to get up early, and look somewhat decent by the time we get to work. If you think about it, it is not even that work requires us to look nice; if we feel that we look good, then we tend to feel good, and there is not anything wrong with a feel good boost in the morning.

In such cases, what should you do? Coffee in your stomach and maybe a few cucumbers on your eyes are only going to go so far (though a cool washcloth can help a lot for under eye circles!). While there are not any magic beauty products to get you through those early hours, there are ways you can manipulate your beauty products in order to get better results that make you look more alert and add to the feeling of being more alert.

For the women that enjoy using eyeliner, you might want to try a different angle. An upward angle, in fact. By applying your eyeliner at an angle, as in lifting up toward the outer corner of your eye instead of straight to the corner, you can give your eyes a little more of an awake appearance. It may seem small, but sometimes it can be the small things that make the biggest differences.

Most of us know what concealer is. Some of us may not use it, others may use it to hide a blemish or two. It is time we stop underestimating just what our concealers can do for us. If you have a good concealer, you can use it to your benefit to hide not only those goofy what-is-that? spot on your skin, but also darker areas such as around the eyes. Use your concealer all around your eye area, including at the inside corner of your eye, because this is the place where it can appear to be the darkest.

Other ways to get that wide awake look when it comes to eyes, you might want to look for lighter colors. Once you have finished with the concealer, try neutral olive or beige (or even a mix depending upon your skin color) eye color. Also, instead of using dark eyeliner for over and under your lashes, opt for something brighter, such as a peach color. You can look perky and fairly natural all at once.

Though it may seem like something your teenager would use, you might want to try a foundation that contains little sparkles. It can aid in hiding facial lines as well as help give you an early morning glow. Just avoid overusing it; you want an even amount. Likewise, you want to find a foundation that contains tiny bits of sparkle; not obvious glitter.

For your cheeks, a little blush can help give you some extra color in the morning. If you have a nice pink color as well as a bronze color, see about mixing the two together. Not only will you get a bit of color, but also have that afternoon sunny glow to your face.

A few before bedtime rules you might want to follow in order to save your skin in the morning; avoid consuming alcohol, and eat right! Fresh fruits, veggies, fish, water, and other healthy choices is always a great way of maintaining happy, healthy skin. Some beauty products are great, but if you do not take care of your skin, even the best beauty product will not be able to help you, morning or night!
