Indian
Beauty Treatments, What Are They? |
Indian
Beauty treatments are quickly spreading among women
who want to look their best and still want to keep man-made
chemicals away from their skin and bodies. These traditional
beauty treatments have been passed down through generations
of women in India and include things like: aromatherapy
facials, organic body scrubs, threading, and yoga. These
Indian beauty treatments are explained below:
Aromatherapy Facials - these Indian beauty treatments
are customized for individuals depending on what you
skin needs as well as how they want to feel after the
facial (invigorated, relaxed, etc.). The facials incorporate
natural skin care ingredients with essential aromatic
oils. |
| |
These
oils can offer moisture and exfoliation as well as balancing
the skin, depending on the oil used. Quite often, green
tea and turmeric (these offer anti-oxidants with a calming
effect) are used as ingredients in this Indian beauty
treatment. |

Body
Scrubs - the number of ingredients that may be used
in these natural body scrubs is unfathomable. While
many body scrubs are used, the most celebratory of body
treatments is one used in the Southern India tradition,
the bride-to-be massages coconut milk over her body
to soften, smooth, and moisturize the skin. Northern
India has its traditional treatment for bides-to-be
as well; in Northern India the treatment for brides-to-be
is a scrub that utilizes turmeric and sandalwood to
create incredibly soft skin.
Both of these traditions are carried out on the day
before the wedding. To make a quick body scrub for yourself,
mix honey and sugar together in a bowl and take it to
the shower with you. Dampen your body, and massage the
honey/sugar mixture all over your body. Pay special
attention to dry skin areas (like elbows, knees, and
feet). Rinse thoroughly (no need to cleanse because
honey is a natural cleanser and antibacterial agent).
Apply organic moisturizer to damp skin and pat dry. |

Threading
- this Indian method of hair removal is almost beautiful
to watch and has been used by many generations of Indian
women. When this beauty treatment it utilized, your
aesthetician with spin a very fine thread between her
fingers near the hair to be removed.
The removal is very quick, quicker than wax, actually
and there is no chance of burning or the skin because
the wax is too warm. It also does not harm the topmost
layer of skin like waxing does. Very fines hairs, which
are missed through tweezing and waxing, can be through
threading. |

Massage
- while many people have heard of or experienced massage,
the Indian variation and traditions are not as well
known. After the birth of a baby, massage is utilized
for 40 days. The baby is massaged and bathed in early
morning then it is held in direct sunlight (which provides
vitamin D). Once it has fallen asleep, the mother is
given an all-over body massage which is followed by
a hot bath.
Studies have shown that massage is an excellent way
to reduce post-partum depression, which is not common
in India. Because of the total relaxation that can be
achieved through massage, your body has a better chance
of dealing with a number of stresses, both physically
and emotionally. When your body can work through these
better, it shows in your skin. |

Yoga
- this Indian tradition is more than exercise, it is
a way to relax. It was actually begun as a way to get
in touch with the spiritual side. More recently, research
has proven that Yoga has great effects on the skin in
more ways than one: the circulation is increased (which
bring more nutrients and takes away more toxins), it
relaxes the muscles (helps decrease expression lines
and wrinkles and keep more from forming) and facial
skin seems to have the effect of a face lift do to some
of the exercises. Many doctors agree that yoga is an
excellent way to do well for both your body and your
emotional state. |

With
Indian beauty treatments catching on around the world,
you will probably hear more and more about the exceptional
benefits for both body and skin. Of course, anything
that does a lot for your body is going to do a lot for
your skin because your skin is the largest organ in
your body. |
