How To Revive Tired Feet
by Louise Forrest

Looking after your feet is something that people never even consider as your feet are generally hidden away by socks and shoes. But looking after your feet is important as they need to last a lifetime and must carry your entire body weight.

You need to make sure that you are eating a good diet with good nutrients and drinking plenty of water will help keep your skin healthy and keep the blood circulation flowing. You should also try regular foot massages which will also help to keep the circulation flowing and keep your feet strong and healthy.

What you should be doing an often basis is to examine any changes to your diet and also the fluids that you consume. If you want feet that you can be proud of then you need to treat your feet as you would your face and other areas such as your legs. Essentially drink water, and perform these massages on a weekly basis.

To perform a correct foot massage you will need a lotion or oil that can be heated. This warmth will help you feel more relaxed and if you massage your feet prior to going to sleep you will find that you also have a fantastic sleep.

Also you should be using a mild lotion and foot scrub and ideally a warming foot soak that can be heated gently but will not get too hot that it will cause burning to the skin. Make sure that if you soak your feet, only warm water is used as anything too hot will strip your feet from their own essential oils and it is important that you do not allow this to happen. Test the water first with an elbow as you would test the temperature of water for a bath for a baby.

Allow your feet to relax and soak in the foot soak and then begin to smooth any creams over your lower legs and feet.

Use your thumb and fingertips to start massaging your feet and concentrate on your lower legs and also work towards your knees also. Once you have massaged your lower legs then begin to work on the ankle area.

You should give your ankles some attention as these can tend to swell throughout the day especially during the summer months. Any swelling in the ankles and lead to poor circulation in the feet and this is why you need to spend some time focusing on the area around the ankles.

Then you need to rest the back of your foot on the fingers of your hand. Here is there is plenty of muscle and you may feel that there is more tension here. Use tiny circles with your thumbs and fingertips when massaging and this will help to get the circulation flowing once again. Keep massaging until you feel that all muscles are loose and spend more time on any areas where you feel the muscles are tight.

Then gradually you then want to start working on your toes. Begin with the smallest toe and massage gently with your fingertips, and make sure that you work from the base of the toe to its tip. Repeat this process for all your other toes.

Finally using the same massage technique make sure you cover your entire foot and repeat with the other foot and other leg. Then just dry yourself off with a soft dry towel.
