Some Foot Care Tips

The feet are among the most vulnerable parts of the body. There are many conditions and infections that affect the feet. Worse, people are usually ignorant about those problems. There are various footcare measures and activities that should always be put in place to make sure health of the feet is maintained. Moreover, there are different and negligible hygienic practices that are not sufficient in addressing and curtailing foot problems. Here are some tips that would help you take good care of your feet.

Regularly wash feet with lukewarm water. Use soap and other cleansing products. Hot water will not be advisable as well as cold water. Contrary to common practice and beliefs, it is not advisable to soak the feet as doing to would make the feet unnecessarily dry after.

After wetting and washing feet, make sure to dry it up appropriately, especially if you would be wearing shoes immediately. That is because growth of fungi and bacteria is more likely if moisture in the feet would combine with sweat. Take note to dry out the spaces in between each toe.

It would be helpful if you would apply a generous amount of moisturizing cream around the feet, except within the areas between the toes.

Regularly monitor and inspect the feet. Be watchful and vigilant especially when there are discolorations and changes in temperature.

Take care and monitor against growth or appearance of verrucae and corns calluses.
- Watch against peeling of dry skin in the feet.

Choose and buy appropriate and recommended shoes for your feet. When buying shoes, observe proper timing. Shop at the later part of the day because during such time, the feet is observed and proven to be at its biggest.

As much as possible, do not walk barefoot indoors and more especially outdoors. Walking barefoot makes the feet very much prone to injury, which would eventually lead to infection. Too much dirt may also accumulate in the feet.

Wearing socks before wearing shoes is very much advisable because socks normally and effectively absorb moisture of the feet.

If you are out on the beach for tanning, do not forget to apply sun screen even to your feet. The harmful rays of the sun can also adversely affect the health of the skin around the feet.
 
Overall, footcare measures would not be complete and would not take effect if there is not much hygiene. Cleanliness would always be an effective measure against any problem that may arise involving your feet.

If there are any problems of if you suspect to suffer from any feet infection or problem, it would be best if you would immediately seek the assistance and advice of a registered chiropodist. Taking home remedies and self medications when there are foot problems may not be always advisable as doing so sometimes make matters and problems worse. If you would be very careful and very particular about taking good care and ensuring hygiene of your feet, you surely would be successful in making sure your feet remain healthy.
