Do You Want High Heels Or Shoes That Fit?
by Louise Forrest

Probably for the majority of woman a good pair of high heeled shoes are the essential fashion accessory. After all, a lady can never have too many shoes. High heeled shoes certainly do finish off a look, they make you look taller, so what is the big deal?

What problems can a pair of shoes really cause?

There is actually nothing wrong with wearing shoes that are high heeled provided that of course they are only worn from time to time. If you find that you are wearing high heels every moment of the day then you could find that things turn against you.

If you have ever worn high heels, you will know from experience that after some time your feet will begin to hurt. This is because of the simple fact that your feet at not in a natural position. It is not only your feet that are risk, but wearing high heels too often is putting more pressure on your toes to support you and there is also an increased pressure on your back and neck also.

One thing that you need to be aware of is that gradually the Achilles tendon will get shorter. And this means that when trying to wear flat shoes you will experience problems. The problem can be repaired but it will take time, but you will need to carry on wearing heels, but the heel is likely to also get worse.

Other problems that you can develop with wearing nothing but high heels are blisters and corns as well as very hard thick skin on the soles of the feet. And if you want to show off your feet having thick skin on your feet will not be flattering at all. Also blisters, not very pretty, they can be painful and also take time to heal.

These problems are normally caused when a lot of pressure is applied to the feet and also when the toes are packed together.

Another condition that seems to occur only in women is neuroma. This happens when feet are literally forced to enter a shoe that is just so tight and narrow. What happens is that this end up with the shoes pinching a nerve within the feet and then tissue starts to develop around that nerve. Sometimes if the problem is so severe, surgery is considered the only option.

And then you have the issue with regards to balance. If you are wearing shoes that have a tall and very then heel, then the chances of you having a fall in increased dramatically. It would only take a wrong move to end up with a potentially twisted ankle.

As you can see there are some serious problems with wearing high heeled shoes but people will always ignore these warnings for the purpose of looking good. Not necessarily feeling good as the feet are bound to be in great deal of pain.

There is no need to stop wearing heels, but wear them from time to time. Taking care of your feet should be taken seriously after all they are the parts of the body that actually help you move around. So they really should not be neglected at all.

Check to make sure that the shoes you wear are of the right size as wearing shoes that are not the size can also lead to problems. Shoes should always be comfortable to wear and never think that you can break into the shoes if they are not comfortable to begin with. It is best to make sure that the shoes you buy are comfortable right from the start.
