The general foot problems one will get are the sores, cuts, swellings and hard nesses. Every step taken to avoid the above will come under foot care topics. The good care includes the daily examination of your feet, toes and toe nails because non maintenance of this will affect severely if you have certain diseases which are lifelong. For example, people with diabetes are the one who are mostly affected if they do not care for their foot. Non maintenance for them will lead to the nerve damage and will reduce their blood flow. This, sometimes, will result in having less feeling in their feet than normal. They will fail to notice if any cuts or other problems encountered in their feet.

Generally foot care and also skin care applies to all and not only for the diseased. Let us have an idea, how foot care applies to everyone. Throughout the day, our feet are inside our shoes. This is a warm, dark and humid place. Hence shoes are the potential for the development of bacteria and fungus’ growth. These infections cause dry skin, redness, itching and peeling. If you fail to take care initially then it will be hard to cure. That is why, foot care is for all. The hard skin is caused by friction and pressure when your feet rub against your shoes. Itching and burning of your feet is due to the dry skin. So, everyday at the time of going to bed apply moisturizing foot cream or lotion on your legs and feet. Presence of corns or calluses has to be dealt with your doctor. Viruses will cause foot lump or warts in your foot. These are painful and if untreated may spread. The only treatment solution for this is to consult your doctor and get treated.

Bunions are a common foot deformity that develops when the joints in your big toe no longer fit together as they should and become swollen and tender. If you have this problem, then consult your doctor. By clipping your toenails very shortly, especially on the sides of your big toes, an ingrown toe nail may get developed. If this causes a break in the skin, bacteria may infect and you will get germinated a foul odor. For this also, you have to consult a doctor for treatment.

Your heel bone will have Heel spurs infection. This is due to calcium deposits that form when the plantar fascia pulls away from the heel. Women are more prone for this disease as they have a significantly higher incidence of heel spurs due to the types of footwear often worn on a regular basis. Treatments for this include using foot supports, heel pads, and heel cups. For some surgery will be advised.

People over 50 years of age may have burning feet problem. Dampness, together with friction, leads to the sensation of burning in your feet. This is noticed more with diabetic patients. Only redness and swelling will be present and you will note any other physical sign of this condition. Podiatrist, vascular surgeon, orthopedist or family doctor can advice and treat you the best for taking care of your foot.

The first step you should take is to remove the hard skin from your feet. This you can do with the use a pumice stone or applying a foot scrub generously on the area, in order to remove the dead foot skin. You can also soak your feet in a bowl of slightly hot water to soften the dirt and the dead skin. Removing these will be easy for you now. Soaking your feet for 10 min in a bowl of warm water is essential also. Adding mineral salts or Palm Sea salts, in addition to a few drops of lavender in essential oils will relieve the aches and reduce the swelling.
