Best Ways To Get Relief From Eczema |
| by Louise Forrest |

There
are a lot of treatments that are available for people
who are suffering from eczema but which one do you choose
or should you choose?
You can use creams and lotions and there are also
steroid based treatments but these need to be only
considered if the eczema is very severe and all other
options have been used but to no success.
There are products that are water based or petroleum
based and there is an important difference between
the two.
Now creams that are either water or oil based and
these products are better for the outer layers of
the skin and acts as a very good moisturizer and from
stopping excessive itching.
On the other hand there are treatments that are more
petroleum based and these act as a better barrier
for the skin when it come to retaining moisture and
this is why many doctors actually prefer to suggest
petroleum based products rather than water based products.
As well as lotions and creams you can also buy pastes
that are indeed a combination of powder, water and
oil. This is then to be applied to the skin and seems
to have a more moisturizing effect on the skin when
compared to other creams and lotions.
A common paste that has recently become available
consists of calcium hydroxide solution, oil, and zinc
oxide. Pastes are considered better than lotions especially
when it comes to soothing dryness and any lesions
that may be found on the skin but pastes should never
be applied to lesions that are open.
A final treatment that you may want to consider is
something that is known as a shake lotion. These are
like pastes, and as the same suggests these need to
be shook before use and they consist of liquid and
powder. These are normally applied to lesions that
have become open as they have good abilities to dry
up any weeping any pus from the open lesion. |
