Eczema |
Eczema And What It Does To Children |
| by Louise Forrest

If you
child has been diagnosed with eczema then you going
to need to learn more in order to help your child as
much as possible.
You should make every effort to get to understand the
condition as your child will be asking many questions
and you need to be able to make them feel good about
themselves and that they have done nothing wrong.
Generally there are some genetics at play but also the
environment and allergens can also be factors as to
why someone may develop eczema
Some of the factors for recognizing eczema include
the following: |
| |
| - |
generally
appears in early childhood |
| - |
lots
of scratching of the skin |
| - |
found
on the face but can affect other areas of the
body |
| - |
skin
is dry and scale |
| - |
other
allergies such as hay fever or asthma can often
lead to eczema |
| - |
this
should normally be done every day for the first
fortnight, and can then be cut back to every days
for instance. But this type of treatment should
be continued on a regular and frequent basis |
|

The problem that you have
is that it is your child who has the condition and they
are of course at an age when they just do not understand
what has happened.
The treatments are generally the same as for an adult,
but given that a child has thinner and therefore more
sensitive skin you need to make sure that very mild
products are being used for the condition and also when
it comes to bath time for instance, then again very
mild products are being used
Following the general steps as for an adult will help
such as avoiding clothing that is made from wool will
help to stop the skin from itching.
With a child it is more of a confidence concern as
they will likely to experience some form of teasing
at school |
