A Hope For Eczema Suffers
by Louise Forrest

There has been some research in to the causes and treatment of eczema and there is a significant amount of insight in to the findings of a new study on genetics.

Such research has concluded that the production of a certain protein in excess amounts does cause a level of disruption to the protective layers of the skin.

It is when this protective layer of the skin has become weak that certain chemicals can then enter the body and this is what actually then causes the body to create more skin than what the body can actually cope with. The skin then becomes infected which in turn will allow more bacteria to then enter the skin and this is how eczema is developed.

So what needs to be done is that new protective layer needs to be created in order to prevent any bacteria from entering the skin, and this can be as simple as applying a lotion that will create the barrier and prevent any impurities from entering the skin.

It has also been seen that people who do have eczema generally do have some other kind of allergy such as hay fever, so it would suggest that there is possibly something very common that triggers eczema as well as other allergies

Research was conducted a gene that is known as connexin 26 and this is responsible for creating the protein that exists in skin cells. It is generally when the skin is cut that this protein is released in order to create new skin

It is important to take a deep understanding of the genetics that can lead to eczema as this may well hold the answers to other issues such as asthma. It is quite often the case that a doctor will see a child who has eczema and then needs to make a decision on how to treat that eczema dependant upon severity

However children who do have symptoms of eczema can go on to develop asthma later in life, and this can further deprive the quality of life and there are some cases where asthma has lead to death of a sufferer.
