| Treating Dyshidrotic Eczema |
| by Louise Forrest |
| |
This
type of eczema has many names. But regardless of the
name that you eczema has been given you are now faced
with the task of dealing with it.
This type of eczema is characterized by blisters that
can occur on the hands and soles pf the feet. The blisters
are clear but can lead to additional problems such as
thickening of the skin and even the skin can crack.
This type of eczema is considered to be much worse during
the summer months.
Like any other type of eczema the cause is not fully
understood, but genetics does appear to be a plausible
reason for this happening.
There are also suggestions that sweating too much can
cause this particular eczema to appear but again this
is a suggestion only and there is no actual evidence
to support this fully.
So how do you treat this particular eczema type?
There is no right or wrong answer to this nor is there
a cure. Like any other type of eczema you need to examine
your lifestyle and your eating habits and see if anything
could be triggering your condition. When you have identified
the triggers you can then take them out of the equation
and hopefully your skin will be able to heal itself.
Here are some steps that you need to try and
avoid |
| |
| - |
getting your hands constantly
wet as the skin starts to break down . |
| - |
do not rub dry your
hands or feet. Always pat dry. |
| - |
avoid
waterless soaps and cleansers as these generally
contain alcohol which dries out the skin. |
| - |
wear
gloves if you are having to cut any kind of foods
such as onions or peppers. |
| - |
if
you wear a ring be sure to remove and clean it
from time to time as the underneath can trap potential
irritants to the skin. |
|
| |
Just
taking a few simple steps you will be in a better position
to avoid and also treat dyshidrotic eczema with hopefully
a good level of success. There is a strong chance that
you will be able to make it go away, but there is a
chance that it will come back, because eczema is a chronic
skin condition. So all you can do is take action that
will tame it. |
