Eczema And Its Psychological Problems |
| by Louise Forrest

If you
thought that having eczema was just about having skin
that was inflamed, red and sore, then you are very much
mistaken. Many suffers do feel embarrassed of their
condition and with this can come many emotional problems
also.
It is a sad fact that many suffers of eczema often
also experience bouts of depression and this can often
be worse during flare ups. But what is the most important
thing is that you learn how to take control of life
and eczema is just one part of it and with positive
treatments can be kept under control.
Now you may be wondering why people do get all depressed
about having eczema. The problem is not the condition
itself the problem lies in what the appearance of
the condition can be like. There are people who may
be in a relationship may not want their partner to
see them or to be close to them at all
There will be a lot of people who do not understand
what eczema is or may have not even heard of it, and
there is a strong chance that they could see the symptoms
of eczema with a level of fear due to their lack of
understanding and also shock
You can associate this with people who may be afraid
of the dark. It is not the darkness that they actually
fear but not knowing they cannot see or they are afraid
that something unexpected may happen to them and they
will have no control. People do not fear you if you
are suffering from eczema, they fear that they too
may also develop the condition
Here are simple steps that will help you battle
the condition on a mental level also: |
| |
| - |
the
more you learn about the disease and the more
you take positive steps the more you will feel
better |
| - |
discuss
the condition with friends and family and let
them know just what eczema is |
| - |
have
someone who you can talk to when you feeling low
about the way your skin is and looks. |
| - |
join
a support group as this will allow you to meet
and become friends with other suffers of eczema.
|
| - |
follow
a strict schedule where you are always monitoring
your skin and applying the right treatment. |
