An Eczema Prevention Tip to Benefit Unborn Babies
by Louise Forrest

Eczema is a common skin allergic reaction that is characterized by redness, inflammation, itching and discomfort. Though the skin disease is not really serious and is not possibly leading to other health risky situations and occurrences, there is a rising need to ensure that the skin is eczema free. Almost all people are susceptible and are prone to contracting the skin disease. Adults are more at risk, though even new born infants are candidates to be diagnosed with eczema. Some experts say that eczema in some infants has been developed while they were still in the mothers’ wombs.

Thus, there is an assumption that eczema can really develop even if the child is unborn. Researchers assert that the mom does not need to have eczema herself for the child to develop the skin condition. Some studies suggest that eczema in pregnancy may be due to exposure to several food and substances that may prompt adverse reaction to the skin. It is therefore noteworthy to bear in mind any guidelines or tips that would help the would-be mom ensure that the unborn child she is carrying would not be affected by eczema.

According to a latest study, there is a sure way on how pregnant moms can help prevent the onset and occurrence of eczema in their unborn baby. Interestingly, that guideline is to eat or consume apples and fish. There are enough proofs that would support the effectiveness of apples in boosting the overall skin health of unborn babies. As the saying goes, every apple consumed each day would help prevent seeing the doctor more disease medication. In the case of apples, you know how the fruit contain high levels of antioxidants that are known to help the body prevent the onset of cancer and many other types of diseases. Anti-oxidants are naturally ideal for the skin because it has been found to fight off problem-inducing radicals and substances that accelerate the skin aging process.

It has been found that pregnant women who are bent to eating one or several other portions of any fish species each day during their pregnancy would have a 50% chance of helping her unborn child prevent the onset of eczema after birth to up to until the fifth year of age. Thus, if moms keep on including fish on their diets, the would-be infant would be possibly spared from eczema from infancy until he or she reaches early childhood stage. After that, the mom could easily monitor he child’s diet and hygiene practices to further avoid development of eczema in the skin.

The study about the effect of eating apples and fish to prevent eczema on unborn babies has been conducted and presented by the American Thoracic Society. Researchers also note that through helping moms include apples and fish on their diets, many other forms of infant diseases can be prevented like asthma, skin allergies and lung problems. Thus, there is a pressing need to encourage pregnant women to eat apples and fish everyday.
