| Whatever You Do, Do Not Scratch |
| by Louise Forrest |

If you
have dry skin then you know that it is not the dryness
that bothers you. It is the fact that you skin looks
aged and dull. But as well as this there is also the
problem that the skin itself is actually flaky.
There will be some people who just do not care or are
not even bothered that their skin is dry and that they
need to itch. Yet there will be people that have the
constant desire to itch away at their skin in order
to generate some relief. Such people will be trying
to hydrate their skin as best possible using whatever
products they can get their hands on. But even these
products will product no lasting results.
The problem you have with dry skin is that it can be
anywhere and everywhere. You face can be dry and flakes
can be falling off your skin whenever you just rub them.
The scalp on your head can be dry and this will then
cause you to have dandruff which is another embarrassing
problem that people can do without.
The hardest thing will be not to scratch. Scratching
can actually feel very good, but at the end of the day
it is not doing you any good what-so-ever. Just scratching
away will do more than possibly aggravate the condition
even further which in the long term will not be beneficial
to you.
Well if you are not allowed to scratch then how do you
get relief from that annoying itch? Firstly if any part
of your body is excessively dry then you need to get
yourself a much better moisturizer than the one you
have at present. Ideally you should one that is organic
as the ingredients will be kinder to the skin.
You should also avoid products that are heavily scented,
as a product that smells nice is not an indication that
it will actually help you in anyway. Also avoid products
that contain alcohol as this has a drying effect on
the skin. |
