Can You Be Sure That It Is Dry Skin?
by Louise Forrest

Like acne, dry skin can affect thousands upon thousands of people who are battling skin that looks aged, tired, sore and also flakey. Now that you are aware that you are not alone in your condition this should give you some level of comfort.

But even if you discover that your condition is a little more severe than you expected you should not instantly panic but you should seek the appropriate advice as soon as possible.

One of the biggest and worse problems of dry skin is that it can become so ground that it can actually start to crack. Having the skin crack can be very painful so you need to stay aware of any changes in the condition of your skin.

If your skin is becoming too dry and you seem to have tried almost everything that you can think of then there are some more steps that you can try, that you may have not considered to date.

In the event that you do have severe dry skin this is known as xeroderma. This is generally caused by too much sun light exposure, lacking vitamin A and even some medications can make the skin become too dry.

Another form of dry skin is known as eczema, and this can also vary on which part of the body can be affected as well as the actual severity of the condition. This can be due to genetics but there are others factors at play such as being in touch with harsh detergents and soaps and even your skin care range could be a factor.

Then there is also psoriasis which is similar to eczema in that it can appear anywhere on the body and its causes are normally the same too.

So if you do find that you have some dryness you need to see your doctor in order to get a full diagnosis. If it is eczema that you have then you need to start a treatment plan straight away in order to be able to control the eczema and to prevent it from becoming worse
