Allergies And Skin
by Louise Forrest

Your diet does play a big role in the condition of your skin. If you are not eating properly then this will show on your face. A poor diet could lead to some serious skin conditions.

A lot of people have some kind of food allergy and such as allergy can have an effect on the skin. But having said this many people do not even know that they have an actual allergy to any food until they eat that food. So an allergy can start at any time and at any place.

If a person has a food allergy and that food has been eaten, then the body starts to think that particular food is trying to harm the body, and so the body then starts to fight back with the so called intruder or allergy.

Whenever the body identifies any food as a potential allergy it will then release chemicals to protect itself from what it considers to be a threat.

It is these chemicals that what cause allergic reactions and sometimes these allergic reactions can affect the way people breathe and also affect the heart rate. Food allergies are common in children and some adults can also have food allergies also.

A common sign of being allergic to a food is scratching and sometimes the body can develop a rash. Other conditions that can appear as a result of a food allergy are:

Hives – these affect any part of the body but very rarely the palms of the hands or the soles of the feet. Hives are very itchy and are noticeable by red lesions.

Simple tablets are given to help control hives, but if they fail not to help then a course of steroids is often suggested. But this depends very much on the severity of the condition.

Eczema – this is very serious condition and causing severe itching, pain and also bleeding of the skin too. This can be caused by a number of food allergies.

All in all nothing can really cure a food a allergy, you just need to take care when eating and to stay away from foods that you know you are allergic to.
