There are numerous solutions and products offering remedies to dandruff that are out in the market. To be able to curtail and control your dandruff problem, all you have to do is to search and for sure, in no time, you would find the treatments and products you have been looking for. It would also be better that before you take steps to get rid of your dandruff problems, you should exert efforts to understand what dandruffs really are and how they are formed. This understanding would be helpful in your part in your quest to find the most effective measure to control your hair itching problem.

To begin with, dandruff is a natural product brought about by the natural shedding of excessive dead skin cells. As you know, our skin cells are regularly shedding of dead cells. The scalp also does so. However, the hair scalp can also be a good breeding ground for yeast-like type of fungus known as malassezia. This fungus naturally feeds on the abundant fatty oils in the scalp. Those oils are produced by the numerous hair follicles.

For uncertain and sometimes unhygienic reasons, the growth of malassezia becomes uncontrollable. When the fungus grows wild in the scalp, there is irritation that is characterized by itching. When you itch, the turnover of dead skin cells in the scalp accelerates dramatically.

Usually, the usual and normal turning over of dead cells in the scalp takes about a month. When there is an abnormal and speedy growth of malassezia, the process speeds up to just two weeks or less. As a result, flaking in the scalp becomes faster and more evident. By combining with excessive oil produced the hair follicles, the fungi form structures that are appearing as greasy clumps, which in turn become very visible and appear like white flakes.

The oil and moisture content attained by the clumps make them easily stuck into the hair, the scalp and of course, the person’s shoulders. That is the reason why dandruff is easily seen and is evident in the person’s shoulders and clothing.

As mentioned earlier, there are many products that have been developed to curtail problems regarding dandruffs. Moreover, there are also popular home remedies that are aimed at taking care of the scalp and preventing the occurrence of dandruff problems. All you have to do is to search for those products.

Taking active and healthy lifestyles could also help free your scalp from the uncomfortable and embarrassing dandruff problems. By observing proper hygiene and taking a balanced and nutritious diet, experts assert that you could effectively and basically help yourself avoid occurrence of this hair problem.
