Does Body Type Cause Cellulite?

You may be living in fear of developing cellulite and that is why you are reading this and other related articles. Even though it is not actually causing you any harm, you main concern is the appearance of cellulite and what others may think, especially with the coverage the media puts on cellulite.

But what you may not know is that your actually body type may be the reason for you having cellulite to begin with. So who does this actually happen and is your body type going to put you at risk of developing cellulite?

What do you think when you hear the words “body type”? For many it is – pear shape, apple shape and hourglass. But when it comes to cellulite there are actually four different ways in which our bodies are described.

Android – here you will have broad shoulders as well as limbs that are muscular. You will not really have a waist and your hips do not generally flare. Such body types are associated with body builders and they generally gain weight on the upper part of the body. More male hormones are produced and they usually good athletes.

If you have this body type you generally require foods that are not good for you and your body turns any cholesterol into steroid based hormones giving the body building effect.

Gynaeoid – this body is quite curvy and you will have small shoulders with a small waist, and curvy hips. Should you gain weight it is normally on the upper thighs or buttocks and can create a very elegant image. But this is where the cellulite appears and it can be hard to remove. If you just have a low fat diet, you may lose weight from areas of the body that do not actually need any weight to be removed from.

People with such body types require foods that are high in fat and also sugar, and any weight gain is generally balanced out.

Thyroid – here the body has normally long limbs, and such people are dancers and models for instance. Such people generally die for caffeine based products as well as smoking and things that are sweet.
Such people generally miss meals and they rarely gain any weight. But they have a very unstable sugar level and this can lead to excess tiredness and this is why they crave sugar and other stimulants.

If you have this body type you are less likely to develop any cellulite, but if you do it will generally be on the back of the thighs.

Lymphatic – here weight is quite easily gained all over the body and a very low metabolic rate which is the reason for the easy weight gain. Such people are generally bigger than what they should be.

If you have this body type, you are likely to be prone to very severe cellulite and this can make it very difficult to see the bone structure in the body. You will crave products that are dairy based and you will not like to exercise at all. Both of which are contributing factors in gaining weight.

As you can see your body type does very much influence if you are to develop cellulite and also where on your body you will gain it.
