Make The Most Of Your Shampoo

Natural hair care products are becoming objects of extensive use these days when people are becoming extra conscious about the quality and the density of their hair. Earlier hair care was restricted to use of shampoos and conditioners but now this term has widened to include hair styling products like mousses, hair gels and hair creams. People are generally endowed with three kinds of hair quality: normal hair, dry hair and oily hair based on their family origins and the gene structure.

The most commonly used hair product; shampoo is utilized for the purpose of removing environmental contaminants and filth from the hair and also sweat which get accumulated in the hair and make it coarse if hair is not cleaned regularly. All the people who have a dry hair structure can resort to the use of special conditioners which can improve the rough structure of their hair. Conditioners are used to balance the ph content of the hair and more acidic conditioners are only suitable for oily hairs. People with dry hair should use it having lower ph content.

Dry hair actually results due to a very less production of sebum by the sebaceous glands present beneath the hair cuticles in the scalp and oily hair actually results due to an excessive production of this substance. This substance is secreted to control the ph balance of the hair, and when this balance tends to get disturbed these glands respond by an increased production of sebum which results in very tacky and greasy hair. As a result, people wash their hair because it becomes oily but it is very natural reaction to a change in the hygiene of a person. A person with a normal hair type should go for the utilization of a moderate shampoo one with not very high ph or alkaline content and also not with a very low content. A balanced shampoo has more of an acidic content based on lactic acid and phosphoric acid. You can also moderate the acidic nature of a shampoo by mixing some water with it before use.

Anti-dandruff products are also extensively utilized by people to get rid of their dandruff infections.Dandruff usually occurs when there is an excessive production of flakes or dead cells by the scalp accompanied by an appearance of red patches and a painful amount of irritation. A person with dandruff faces a lot of embarrassment due to the continuous and uncontrollable shedding of flakes. It is now curable with the use of special shampoos but an extra amount of prudence is needed before choosing the right kind of anti-dandruff shampoo. Anti-dandruff shampoos with higher Nizoral content should be preferred because this ingredient does not lead to the desiccation of hair unlike the other dandruff neutralizing shampoos. Dandruff primarily occurs due to an enhanced sebum production and also due to an immoderate production of by-products of some essential hair microbes like the fungus Malassezia furfur.

Sometimes, this infection also occurs due to an excessive use of hair styling products. There are also other effective home-made remedies for treating dandruff like the tea tree oil and the use of sodium bicarbonate or baking soda.
