Found in Several Baby Skincare Products |

A private research
organization called the Environmental Working Group is warning
consumers about several toxic chemicals that can be found
as active ingredients in a number of out in the market. The nonprofit group
said it has spent a considerable amount of time and effort
in analyzing about 1,700 of various products caring for the
baby’s fragile skin. Interestingly, the nonprofit organization
said it was also surprised to learn that most of those goods
can cause allergies, hormone problems and even cancer. Surely,
many parents and consumers would react to this study finding.
The United States Food and Drug Administration said it could
not back nor argue the assertion of EWG. That is because it
is yet to attain a copy of the study, if ever the private
group would eve decide to furnish one for the use of the health
products regulator. But FDA reminds everyone that it is strictly
imposing requirements before any skincare product, particularly
those intended for babies, could be approved for wider market
distribution. FDA says it is confident that the out in the market are safe and
are not containing harsh ingredients.
For its part, EWG argues that the harmful ingredients can
be found as indicated in the products’ labels. Of course,
not too many people would be able to identify and determine
whether an active ingredient is harmful or not. But the group
said if consumers could do some research about synthetic ingredients
found in the baby skincare products, they would surely be
able to instantly know the ingredients’ possible harmful
effects to the .
What could you do to ensure the safety of your baby? As a
parent, of course, it is your duty to protect the infant from
any harm. Before you choose any , it would be safer if you would first seek the
opinion of the pediatrician or the dermatologist. Such medical
professionals would be able to identify harmful ingredients
and could help determine which products would be tolerated
by the fragile skin of your baby. Also, the skin type of your
baby might not be matching with the ingredients in a particular
baby skincare product. The doctor would help determine if
a product is safe or not.
In the case of the numerous , be warned that not all
of them could be safe for your baby. Remember that there are
plants and herbs that can cause allergies and irritation to
the skin of your baby, which is extremely sensitive. Ask your
doctor about recommended baby products that have been proven
to be safe, effective and very much risk-free. Giant consumer
brands may have been operating for hundreds of years, but
we could not really be sure if their products are still safe
for the baby’s skin as through the years, for sure,
several ingredients of the products may have been modified
and replaced. |
