Take Care Of Your Skin Now
by Louise Forrest

Skin care is important when it comes to keeping your skin healthy, colorful, and strong. People who neglect taking care of their skin, men included, can end up with a gamut of problems in the future, ranging from skin cancer to wrinkles and dryness. There is no way to completely stave off skin problems as you grow older; winkles are bound to happen even to the most resilient of skin types. However, with a good skin care regimen, you can slow down some of these issues and keep your skin looking better longer.

It may seem daunting at first when looking at all the various products lining the shelves at drug stores and bath and body stores. Is there a difference between natural skin care and organic skin care? Or what about natural beauty products and organic beauty products? The answer to natural versus organic skin care products is dependent upon the ingredients. Natural simply refers to the sorts of ingredients in the product; beeswax, oils, etc.

Organic refers to the way these particular natural skin care ingredients are grown and dealt with. Are they chemically altered? Were the sunflowers from which oil was derived treated with pesticides? If not, then the ingredient is organic. The trouble with these is knowing what really an organic skin care product is and what is not. You will probably have to do further research on organic beauty products and natural beauty products to be sure.

Once you have decided whether you want to use organic skin care or just products that make you comfortable, you can start building a skin care regimen. There are several product possibilities you will want to consider, so know the basics before searching out the best skin care product for each.

Cleanser. One of the most important parts of your routine. Depending upon your skin type, a cleanser can help remove dirt, extra oil, makeup, and dead skin cells from your face that can cause pore clogs and dry skin out or make it even oilier. Cleansers come in various types, so find out what your skin needs and treat it accordingly.
Exfoliate. A good scrub can further clean out pores and remove dead skin cells. Always be sure to avoid scrubbing too hard or too fast, as doing so can damage your skin and dry it out. If you have oily skin, drying it out will only force your oil glands to produce more oil, which counteracts your previous efforts at removing the oil.
Moisturize. If you have oily skin, you can probably forgo this step as your skin is doing enough for you already. For those with dry skin, a nice moisturizer can help in getting skin soft and supple again. Depending upon the severity of your dryness, a lightweight moisturizer a few times a day may be enough, or a thicker moisturizer with emollients may be needed. You may have to adjust your moisturizer to your skin as the seasons change, growing drier and moister throughout the months.
Protect. Sunscreen is the best way to protect your skin from cancer as well as sunburn. Even on cloudy days UV rays can still seep through and damage your skin, so putting on a sunscreen quite often will keep these rays from your skin. Some products come with sunscreen already in them, but usually it will not be very strong, nor will it last as long as a typical sunscreen.
Other Needs. For those with acne, taking care of your skin is in order first, with the steps above. Then you can add in the necessary elements for acne skin care, such as certain creams or, if determined by a dermatologist, stronger forms of medication. Acne skin care will be most necessary during teen years, but in case you find yourself with a breakout during later years, it might be handy to keep some form of acne fighting product nearby.
Anti aging skin care will only be necessary during your later years, but there is nothing wrong with getting an early start. Most products you will not need to bother with as they are for people who currently have wrinkles, fine lines, etc. But if you have a good routine, you will not have to worry or focus on anti aging skin care as by taking good care of your skin, you already are.

Whether it is organic beauty you want or just searching out the best skin care product on the market, as long as you care for your skin, it will be strong and look great for years to come.
