Slow Down Ageing by Preventing Heavy Metal Toxicity
by Louise Forrest

Not many people have heard of Heavy Metal Toxicity, however it can cause a lot of problems for the body, and speeding up ageing is just one of them! So what exactly is Heavy Metal Toxicity and how on earth do we end up with it?

Heavy Metal Toxicity Causes and its Symptoms
You may think that you are completely safe from Heavy Metal Toxicity; however you will be surprised to know that every single person is exposed to some form on metal Toxicity on a daily basis. We are exposed to toxic metal through cooking utensils, deodorants, pesticides, and pollution to name but a few, and we do not even realize it!

Each toxic metal has a drastic effect on the body and it can make you feel really drained. However, the worst damage of all that Heavy Metal Toxicity seems to cause is free radical damage.

Free radical damage affects the amount of time it takes for us to age. Now small amounts of metals are in fact good for the body, however large amounts are what cause the problems! Some of the metals involved include:
Silver
Arsenic
Nickel
Cobalt
Zinc
Iron
Now obviously the body does need a certain amount of zinc and iron, as well as other metals, however, as mentioned, high amounts of them can start to cause free radical damage. Generally there are thirty three different metals which can be a concern, and twenty three of them are actually heavy metals. That just shows the extremity of how bad the problem can be.

The metals enter the body through the air, through our food, and through the water which we drink and bathe in. You will know if you have the condition through symptoms such as confusion, muscle and joint pain, short term memory loss, and headaches. There are also other symptoms but they are all similar to other conditions so it is often hard to make a diagnosis based on symptoms alone.

If you do think you may have the condition, it is important to get checked out with your local doctor to get a diagnosis, and to see what treatment you will need, if any.

Treatment for Heavy Metal Toxicity
The treatment for Heavy Metal Toxicity depends entirely on how severe the condition has become. Before you can treat the condition, you need to know which metals have caused it and then you need to figure out how to start removing them from the body. A Hair Analysis is often used to detect which metals are the problem, and further testing may also be used such as a twenty four hour urine test.

EDTA Chelation is often used to treat the condition and Vitamin C and replacement mineral infusions are also used. Usually any symptoms which you may have had before the treatment should go away fairly quickly after treatment has started. If they do not go away, it may be an indication that long lasting damage has been caused which may include damage to the liver.

In relation to ageing, Heavy Metal Toxicity can cause Parkinson’s disease and Alzheimer’s disease, so it is extremely important that you do get an early diagnosis, and that treatment is undergone as quickly as possible. The diet is the most important part of controlling the condition, and your doctor should be able to give you recommendations as to what to add to the diet, and what to cut out.

Overall Heavy Metal Toxicity is something not many people of heard of, but it can and it does drastically affect our ageing process. Every single person is exposed to metals every single day, and so being aware of the symptoms is important in catching the condition early before it has a chance to cause any long lasting damage.
