Acne Treatment Secrets That Can Work For You
by Louise Forrest

Are you one of those individuals that struggle with acne, and tried everything? There are always new products on the market to try; however the key to acne is knowing what causes it before you can prevent it. There are many treatment options from the expensive doctor prescribe medicines to the store bought type. Let us a look at a few reasons for acne before moving on to some prevention methods for acne.

Most of you affected by acne on a large scale probably have oily skin, which means you have to take more precautionary measures. Let us look at the scientific side of acne for just a moment. Acne is termed as a disorder where the hormones affect the skin’s oil glands and hair follicles.

Left untreated, severe cases of acne can cause scarring. While studies have no real cause for this disorder related to food or other environmental factors, they believe food, perspiration and stress will cause the acne, often called zits or pimples, to appear. This means that food, perspiration, and stress are factors of an acne breakout, but they did not create the disorder. Acne usually begins in the teenage years and last until you are thirty.

One of the leading factors of an acne breakout is what you eat. Chocolate, greasy foods, sodas, and other unhealthy food items can cause you to breakout more so than eating healthier food. You do not have to stop eating these types of foods, but be aware you may need to take extra steps to keep your skin acne free if you decide to.

Another factor for an acne breakout is perspiration. The type of skin you have will in part decide what effects your body, for instance a person with dry skin is not as susceptible to an acne breakout caused by perspiration. A person with naturally oily skin will usually have an acne breakout after a day or two of being in a situation where it is hot or playing games where you perspire.

The last factor we will discuss is stress. Have you ever noticed when you feel stresses you tend to have an acne breakout? Teenagers who stress over tests, or just stress over having acne can make their symptoms worse. If your job has been stressful, chances are you will have an acne breakout.

Now that you know a few factors, let us look at some prevention techniques. It may take you a few years to figure out what works on your skin, or you may have to keep changing treatments every so often because the products you use stop working.

I have found for oily skin the best treatment is products with a natural oatmeal base. The oatmeal and other ingredients in these soaps have a combination to keep you skin from drying out while opening the pores on your skin. The best treatment is two have three parts, the everyday soap for acne, once a week mask, and a cleanser to help remove the additional dirt, oil, and dead skin cells.

Organic based products are another source of treatment. They are based on all natural products without the use of harmful toxins. These products tend to be less harsh on sensitive skin than doctor prescribe medicines.

Doctor prescribe medicines are often used in severe cases of acne. The reason for this is nothing else usually works. Dermatologists work on trying to create treatments or treat acne depending on their career path. These medicines try to prevent scarring from acne as well as clear up the breakouts.

There are a lot of treatments and factors regarding acne. While the cause of acne has to do with our hormones blocking our pores certain foods, perspiration, and stress can lead to a breakout. Acne is a problem and most often embarrasses the person who has it, so learning what you can do to prevent it is equally as important as the treatments for acne.
