You are well and truly stunned that you have become plagued with acne, but you should be comforted to know that there are just so many options in which to treat acne without any damaging effects to the skin.

This is to make sure that any products that you use do not block the pores of the skin. You should also choose and use perfumes that are skin friendly and will not lead to any kind of reactions with any creams that you may use.

Diet – although there is no actual evidence to suggest that there is a link between acne and diet you should do everything as possible to make sure that you have a well balanced diet. You diet should consist of fruit, vegetables, fish and nuts as much as possible and you need to be drinking lots of water on a daily basis. Water will not only help to flush the human system but it will also keep you and your skin hydrated.

Hormones – this is especially so for those who are in their teenage years. Such hormonal changes generally cause the skin oily secretions activity to increase and this is usually the cause for breakouts. This is also the cause when women are on their monthly cycle.

Skin care – if you do have acne you must make sure that you treat your skin with the highest level of care. You need to avoid touching your face with your hands and you should wash your face twice a day only. Never over wash and never be harsh on your skin when drying, simply pat dry with a soft towel. It is essential that you adopt the gentlest routine for your skin if you are suffering from acne.

Various Products – with the many products that are on the self – you need to make sure you have the products that are right for you and that are of a good quality. Try to use products that are natural and organic based, as these will not contain any harsh chemicals and will be much kinder to your skin. As mentioned in a previous article, there are a number of everyday items that you have in your own home that you can use in order to treat acne.

Shaving – this may sound odd, but if you shave whilst having acne, this could actually prove to be too your advantage. Simply because shaving acts as an exfoliation and is removing any unwanted dead skills and will keep you looking fresh. But you do need to exercise some form of caution, especially if you have severe acne and if your acne is sore. Make sure however that you wet shave as this will be kinder to the skin and that you make use of a good razor. Make sure that you shave towards the growth of the grain and shaving after you shower is normally better as this will mean that you will have softer whiskers making shaving that much easier.

Stress – having acne can often lead to stress, and stress is thought to lead to the development of further acne. Make sure that you rest well and that you get plenty of sleep. Stay busy with hobbies that will take your mind away from your acne and that will keep you in a positive mood.

Just following some of these simple steps will help you to be equipped with the challenges that acne can bring into your life. Talk to your friends and there are many support groups that are available where you can talk and meet other people who are in the same position as yourself.
