Top Home Options for Treating Your Acne |
|
| by Louise Forrest |
| |
There
are many causes for acne, and there are equally as many
treatments for it as well. While many people may opt
to use over the counter medicines or prescription treatments
given by a doctor, there are also alternatives. There
are certain home treatments that can help you treat
your acne with suprisingly good results.
Acne Causes
Before you can really get into acne treatment, it is
important to understand some of the causes. |
| |
Acne,
sometimes called zits or pimples as well, are usually
caused by one of three things. They can be due to hormonal
changes or issues, poor dietary habits, and poor skin
care. While it is possible to fight the onset of acne
by eating well and taking care of your skin, sometimes
hormones do what they are going to do and you can end
up with acne no matter what you do. That is where treatment,
and specifically home treatment, of acne comes into
play. |
| |
| Nutmeg Acne Treatment |
One such
home treatment is really just a matter of a couple of
ingredients. You will need nutmeg and unboiled milk.
With the nutmeg, it is impotant that you buy the actual
nut and grind it yourself rather than buying it ground
if you want it to work properly. Mix the freshly ground
nutmeg with the unboiled milk and apply it to your acne.
Many people swear by this old and simple home remedy. |
| |
| Honey Paste for Your Acne |
Another
popular method for treating acne at home is by making
a special honey paste. You will need honey and cinnamon.
Simply mix the honey and cinnamon powder together to
form a paste. Apply it to your face and let it stay
on over night. The next morning, you can simply wash
it off with warm water. This is not only a great treatment
for acne, but also a nice skin treatment just to keep
a healthy glow as well. |
| |
| Herbal Treatment |
There
are also treatments that involve the use of fresh herbs.
For instance, many people swear that applying fresh
mint juice on your face nightly will treat not only
acne, but other skin problems like stings, bites, and
infections.
Additionally, fresh garlic is used to treat acne. For
instnace, it is said that you can simply rub garlic
on your acne regularly. This treatment, if done regularly,
can help your acne to disappear and leave your skin
looking brand new. |
| |
| Prevention of Acne at Home |
In addition
to treating your acne at home, you can also help prevent
it. One very common home remedy for acne is the use
of paste made up of fresh fenugreek leaves. Once you
puree the leaves into a paste, you can smear it on your
face nightly. This can help prevent the formation of
acne, blackheads, and other skin disorders
Additionally, you can use many of the treatments as
preventatives as well. Simply apply them regularly,
even when you are not suffering from an acne outbreak
at that time. |
| |
| Finally |
As you
can see, there are numerous ways of treating your acne
at home. While not every case of acne may be succesfully
treated via home remedies, it is a great way to start
your treatment. It is less expensive and can be much
healthier for your skin in the long run.
Try some of the treatments above if you have an acne
outbreak. Or, if you like, you can use the treatments
as a way to prevent acne outbreaks. Either way, you
will find that sometimes it is the home treatments for
acne that are the most effective ones. |
