Getting an All-Natural Handle on your Acne
by Louise Forrest

When it comes to treating acne, false hope and miracle cures seem to be the order of the day. There are infomercials, ads, and old folksy remedies by the plenty, but it is impossible to tell if any or all of them work, and it would cost a fortune to find out. And what makes treating acne so frustrating is that the proper treatment for one kind of acne, say, facial acne, may be completely different from the proper way to treat acne located on the bank or other parts of the body.

So most people get by with a cleanser or two (or three, or four…) and we hope for the best. But there are many healthy and all natural ways that we can deal with acne, and they will not cost you an arm and a leg, either.

The first thing that you can do is to analyze your diet. Some foods, like chocolate and greasy fried foods actually have a reputation for causing acne, but there are a whole host of foods that are thought to make your body create more oils and therefore create more acne.

The first step you can take is to try to eat a more healthy diet. Try to cut out as much refined sugar as humanly possible. You can still have sweet treats, just try to substitute the sugar with other sweeteners. If you are a fan of Coke or Pepsi, switch to diet. You should also make an effort to eliminate as much extra oils from your diet, as well.

Check the labels on the sides of products you eat and try to stay away from processed and high fat products. You should see the results on your skin right away!

While you want to make an effort to avoid some foods, you should strive to include others in your diet every day. Just like your mom has been telling you for years, you should make an effort to increase the amount of veggies and fruit in your diet. Lean meats are also a great way to get lots of energy without all of the calories from fatty oils and processing.

Whole grains are a great way to help clean your body out, and salad is a fantastic way to help your body look and feel better, but watch out for that thick dressing, it can turn a healthy meal into one that can wreck havoc on your skin.

There are also a whole host of herbal, 100 percent natural supplements that you can add to your diet that does a great job of keeping your insides clean and your skin clear. Taking a healthy regimen of vitamins can also help keep your body performing at its highest level so that you can get as much out of your diet as possible, and keep your skin clear at the same time.

Vitamin A helps your body to regulate the amount of natural oils your body produces. When you are taking in the proper amount of vitamin A, and eating a diet that does not cause your bodies production of natural oil to go into overdrive, you can count on clearer skin.

Making sure you get enough Vitamin B is important, too. It serves as a healthy antioxidant for your body. Vitamin B is actually a whole host of vitamins all rolled into one. The easiest way for you to take in all of these healthy, skin-assisting nutrients is by snacking on one banana a day.

Treating acne can be one of the most stressful and frustrating experiences anyone can have. Severe acne can completely change the way we look, and how we feel. But with proper diet, you can control part of the battle, and it will not cost you an arm and a let, either.
