Have You Body Acne?
by Louise Forrest

Acne is more often that not found on the face of the people that are suffering from it. But for some people acne can also appear on the back and chest too and it is just as hard to treat as acne that is found on the face.

The only advantage that you if have if you are suffering from body acne is that it is not noticeable as the body is covered up. But it still causes the sufferer to have problems with this condition from a mental point of view.

Generally speaking acne on the body is common on the back and shoulders and it can also appear on the chest too.

If for instance that you find that you have developed acne on your buttocks, then the likely cause is that there is a great deal of friction between your skin and the clothing that you are wearing when you are exercising. It is also a good idea to make sure that you shower after you have performed any kind of exercise.

What causes a person to develop acne on the body is not really known, but any irritation to the skin can make matters worse, so you need to be careful about the clothes that you wear. If you sweat a lot and you also wear tight fitting clothes then this is not going to help and can also be a factor as to why you may have developed body acne in the first place.

So what can you do to treat body acne should you develop it? Well actually the treatments are very similar to the methods for treating acne on the face, but for some reason body acne does not react well to the treatments that are available.

One of the reasons for this is that the skin is more thicker on the body than the face and another issue is that the body is covered so there is friction between the skin and the clothing that you wear.

One of the common treatment for body acne is to use a benzoyl peroxide based shower gel, and this does normally help and good results can be seen.

But if this does not work then you will need to see your doctor for further advice and other possible medications that are on prescription only. Generally you need a very positive attitude if you have body acne and results will not happen overnight, but just following some of the tips in this article should result in some positive results.
