Exercise And Acne
by Louise Forrest

An interesting question to ask is does exercise contribute to acne? It would be odd if it did as we need to exercise in order to stay healthy and fit. But if the exercise training is making you excessively hot and sweaty then this could be the perfect place for acne to develop.

But on the hand if you do nothing other than watch TV all day long, that too does not present the image of a healthy active person. Some research that was conducted recently was to suggest that there may be some variations from person to person that could affect the development of acne.

Bu this is now making a difficult choice for you. If you do not exercise then overall you will not be healthy and if you do exercise then you run the risk of developing acne, simply because of the activity that have you have selected in order to improve the overall condition of your health and wellbeing.

But you can take the right steps to make sure that you are not risk of developing acne should you exercise. Simply follow the following rules:

Keep hair away from your face – when you exercise and sweat this will also affect your hair and scalp and will run down on to your face, and there could be further problems if you use hair styling products.

Choose your equipment wisely – avoid using equipment that will rub against your skin as some levels of friction against the skin are known to develop acne

Wear light clothing – make sure that the clothes that you wear are light and loose and also comfortable when you are exercising. This is simply to prevent the possibility of any kind of friction against the skin. Tight clothing can cause other problems and not necessarily acne.

Take a shower – if you have exercised then you will be likely to be hot and very sweaty. For your own personal hygiene you should take a shower and in order to feel fresh and to also keep your skin clean

Keep your clothes clean – if you use sweat bands you should make sure that these are always kept clean as they are designed to soak up a great deal of sweat from the skin.

Use gentle products on your skin – any products that you use should really be oil free and you do not want to be adding more oil to skin that is already very greasy.
