When
you here the word Acne, you think of someone that is
suffering from inflammation on the face of that person.
But acne does not just affect the face, other areas
of the body can also suffer from acne.
There are a number of reasons why acne may also develop
on other areas of the body. If any pores become clogged
with any kind of excess oil and bacteria then that
is a breeding ground for more clogged pores and therefore
there is a high chance that acne can develop.
Should you discover that you have symptoms on area
of the body that could resemble acne then the first
thing that you need to do is not too panic. Check
the area that has become infected and ask what you
may have changed in your lifestyle to create this
outbreak. If you are not sure then would always be
a good idea to visit a doctor to hear their point
of view.
Here are a list of the most common types of
acne and a brief description
Acne vulgaris – this is acne
at its most common and is generally experienced during
teenage years. It generally appears on the face but
it is common for it to spread to the chest and back.
Acne rosacea – this is a red
rash that appears on the face of the patient and can
be very sore. Simple cleansers should be used and your
doctor will be able to offer some medication
Acne keloidalis nuchae – this is a result
of shaving. It happens when doing a close shave and
this can leave the hair follicles open and prone to
debris becoming clogged within them. The same can happen
to women when they shave their legs. Because it is caused
by shaving it is also known as razor bumps.
Acne conglobata – this happens
around the groin especially and also on the buttocks.
It is generally the sweat glands that have become inflamed
and these areas should be kept at clean as possible.
Acne cosmetica – if you an adult
but are still having problems then there is likelihood
of your acne being caused by hormone changes. The best
thing for you to do is to have a good skin care routine
and well balanced diet.
The possible cause as to why you are getting acne
in your adult life is possibly due to the products
that you are currently using. They are just clogging
your pores and this is what is causing you your acne.
Acne fulminans – this is a very
severe case of acne conglobata and you should visit
