The American
Academy of Dermatology has been explicitly asserting
that there indeed is no absolute . But a group of Australian
researchers have found that there is indeed a great
and reasonable link between the two. A small research
has yielded an interesting result and is answering a
common question of why acne is typical and is common
among teenagers in the United States, Canada, Australia,
the United Kingdom and other developed countries, whereas
teens from third world and developing nations are not
having too much problem about these skin occurrences.
The explanation in the findings also make sense.
The small study covering about 50 young men from
Australia was aimed at finding out the link between
acne and food intake habits. The study was conducted
for a period of 12 days and subjected the participants
to monitoring. The 50 young Australian men were aged
about 15 years old to 25 years old. The groups were
split into two controls. The first was asked and restricted
to following a strict diet made up of poultry, fish,
lean meat, fruits and vegetables. Processed breakfast
cereals and white bread were replaced with whole grains.
The other control group was asked to strictly eat
the usual Western diet composed of burgers, doughnuts,
potato fries and others.
The result was almost predictable. The group who ate
natural and healthier foods after 12 weeks were found
to be cleared from any acne occurrence. Those who were
prior to the study surprisingly were
cleared of any skin problem. Their acnes were gone after
the period. In comparison, the group who are tasked
to eat the regular and usual Western diet was found
to be affected by acne. Their acnes were worse and those
with clear skin prior to the study were noted to have
oily to blemished skin quality.
The result was clear. Western processed foods are indicatively
contributing to the widespread of the . Now, many of
the researchers are answering queries about why teenagers
in Western nations are more likely to develop acne problems.
The findings of the simple study were clear indications
that indeed, diet is directly affecting the overall
skin quality and condition. It is logical that processed
Western foods are more likely to cause skin problems
than the natural foods.
Asked how the diet link can be explained, many scientists
and experts readily offer a supportive explanation.
According to them, Western foods are rich in nutrients
and ingredients that are prompting production of more
hormones. You know that hormones have long been directly
. According to earlier studies,
teenagers are more at prone to develop acne because
their male and female hormones are starting to shoot
up. Thus, when diets raise such hormones further, of
course, the likely result would be that acne occurrence
would be more evident.
The study suggests that if you aim to , or if you want to prevent the
problem, you should eat natural and unprocessed foods.
